first time to the track!

well yesterday i went to the track for the first time and this is what i ran.. i have a bone stock 2004 G35c 6MT..

r/t- .449
60' - 2.170
330'- 5.968
1/8- 9.088
MPH- 78.91
1000- 11.762
1/4 - 14.023
MPH- 100.59

i could of ran a better time but palm beach international raceway doesnt give you time to prep your launch. I also have almost bald tires so am sure with a new set of tires i could get her down to the 13s. I had one run that was going to be a high 13 but i missed third unfortunately. I ran a 14.276 at 97.31 MPH that run

Nice stock time. But what do you mean that PBIR does not give you time to prep your launch?

PBIR has a waterbox that you can light up your tires. Unless you have DR or slicks heating up a regular tire is not going to do anything for you.

i always warm up my tires in the waterbox when i go to the track even with regular zrated tires just to warm them up a little bit, seems to me like i get a little more traction. My tires arent in the best shape too i have to change them. What i mean about PBIR is once you get on the staged light it starts counting down automatically without giving you time to prep.. when i used to go to moroso they used to give you atleast 4-5 seconds to prep up your launch.. cant wait to go back and run a 13 am going to change my tires first. Kind of weird i hit 14.0 two times and i launched the car differently. One run i held the RPMs at around 2.5ish and popped the clutched and the run that i got the best i just revved to about 5k and did some pedal action and left out the whole like i just stole the fvcking car hehe

Good Times.

I ran 13.82 @ 100mph at PBIR with my bone stock 07 Sedan. Really you don't have to go when the light goes green. Yes, your Reaction time is screwed but you can sit there to prep for a launch since the clock doesnt start timing your 1/4 run until you leave the tree.

Whenever you guys are down, we can make a track night @ PBIR. They have Test & Tune nights all month.

Allan
