Reporting from bestbuy in Aventura

well, I am here at work still and cant leave( still getting paid though). My car is in a horrible place right now. Went to check it Water is up on the skirts. I parked it on a slight incline backwards so I think the exhaust tips are above water.

I think I might call the Road side assitance see if they can tow me out or something, or should I just leave it there till it dries out.

^ Yea man this sucks big time.

I was not even suppose to go to work to day but a friend asked if I could cover him today. He is so lucky, He has a lowered Lancer which prob would be much worse lol.

So many cars stalled out its nuts.Lots and Idiots and some in his 2D Massarati stalled out, restarted his motor and it died again with white smoke coming out the tail pipe. Tow trucks making a killing man.

There was a M35 right behind the store, with water up on the door. Also I saw 07ish Stang with Water halfway up its door. As well as Audi Q7 stalled out as well next to the M35, The water is freaking high. 10+ Inches. I dont get why people think they can make it.

Gerr, its weird not having my car at home, going back in like 4hours hope the water level good by then

Now that I think of it, I should of unplugged my Battery

Just to give you guys some type of point to think about.

You know the shopping carts at target, or Whole foods..ect the Water level was very close to the bottom of the basket if not touching it.

Audi A4, BMW 5 Series stalled out right near my car

There was also a Firetruck dead in 5 feet of water. And Later today its suppose to rain again...

^ lol, I got it home, thank god. Parking lot was totally drained, by my neighborhood sucks big time, I had my dad go in my moms Suv and plow water.

any how

Engine/Tranny- fine it seems
Exhaust - had a kinda sweet wood burning smell to it, uh I let the car sit idle for a bit to heat up everything.

Interior- The whole floor of my car is wet.. I just spend 2 hours using my Wet Vac to suck out as much bad water as I can. I then poured about a full gallon on Carpet cleaner all around the front and rear. I am leaving on Vacation in 5 hours, so I cannot do anything else. Hoping the carpet cleaner will get down into the floorboards were the bad water is now and freshen it up. So I don't come back to a stinky car :O.

Other then that I think its ok

^If you can you should take the seats out and the carpet and let it dry out or take it to a cleaner so it wont grow mold/mildew. Underneath the carpet there is styrofoam parts that the water could just be sponged up in.

wow bro sorry to hear about that. There is honestly no true fix for this. It all depends on how involved the claim gets if you do claim it. It can get bad enough that the car end up with a near salvage title. Let me know if you need any help. I wouldve probably yanked the interior and pulled the carpet. Under the seats are alot of electronic gear. Let me know and def get ahold of me before the trip to the dealership.

^No problem. When you get back all's you need to do is disconnect your battery. This is so you don't blow your airbags in the seats. You will need a 14mm socket to take the bolts out from the rails. There are 4 of them and I believe a 19mm for the seatbelts. I think there is a DIY guide somewhere here on this site.
