Installing Headers

Sup guys, I need help installing my headers. I'm actually looking for someone to do the work because by the looks of it, it doesn't look like a walk in the park. I just got back from a shop that said they would charge me $600-700 and it would take a full day and even up to a day and a half... I thought that was pretty ridiculous so I went on my way. So if anyone knows of someone or some place that won't charge a ridiculous amount please let me know. Thank you.

Yea man, it is pretty difficult. I helped my buddy and it took several hours, lots of sweat, and even a bit of blood lol. Id say that price is pretty spot on. Id look around though you might find it a bit more reasonable somewhere else. Good luck.

Thanks for the heads up. I assume both need to be done from underneath?

Which headers are they? There are some tricks for the difficult ones. Danny (gg) eli, ernest, and myself have done them. Its not hard. I installed crawfords on mine (with the tranny out) in about 4 hrs. Tell us what your plans are. I would not recommend disconnecting the steering column (knuckle). Talk soon Mike

You can do it, its time consuming and you need lots of tools. You will be doing some from the top, some from the bottom.

Do yourself a favor, get some extra coolant, remove the passenger side coolant hard pipe and hose, makes getting to some of the bolts much easier. You will need lots of swivels, extensions, sockets, wrenches, ratchet wrenches, and I even cut a few wrenches and re-welded them so I could get to a bolt.

IMO if you can do the install your self, it is most def worth it. I saw some decent gains when I was n/a.

I have a drawer in my tool box, of cheap wrenches that I have cut, bent and welded in weird angles for a few different projects.
