Injen Z tube problem/help

So for any welders/ or non dumb car people like myself I have a lil situation on my hands. Bought a Injen Z tube from a member on here for fairly cheap but it was missing the breather fitting that connects to the emission hose. I simply assumed i would be able to grab a fitting from Lowes and connect the two for a simple fix (I admit i am an idiot when it comes to cars) However the curve of the tube would not allow a fitting to stay. So my question is would i be able to grab another fitting from Lowes and have it welded to work? Is this a possible option that would last or would i just be better off to cut my loses and buy a new one? Any other suggestions? There are some pics below to help explain what i am talking about.
