Injen SES Rattle Fix

After dealing with the infamous Injen Exhaust rattle, I finally got a chance to come up with a solution earlier today. First I would like to state that I have tried the other fixes that were posted on this forum with little success. I had the hangers on the mid-pipes bent, and that solved it for a short time only to find that the rattle returned.

The fix consisted of two 2 3/4" hose clamps around the rubber bushings that the hangers are on. They are tight enough that it has lifted the mid-pipe close to an inch above the cross member. So far from driving around today I haven't heard one single rattle.

One of my concerns though is that maybe the hose clamps could eat through the rubber bushings, I don't think it will, but does anyone think it may? I will check again in a few weeks to see if everything is still holding up.

could be the fact that you need to get replacement pipes. i had the same problem an injen replaced them. you can tell if yours are defective if the flex pipes are NOT next to the flenge that connects to the cats(the defective ones have the flex pipe a little farther away). you can always call injen's customer care for help. hope this helps

Dude, call up Injen. They're cool people to work with and they stand behind what they sell. If you're having rattling issues caused by pipes hitting, its more or less a bad pipe or hanger. Give them a ring.

You guys really think this issue can be fixed by replacing the mid-pipe? I was always under the assumption that this was a well known issue with the Injen SES. My friend that has a Z with this exhaust system has the same issue, and applied the same fix that I did, no further problems. Though I really like this exhaust system alot, but I have to agree with G352NV, this system seems to be plagued with issues. You think that paying for a somewhat costly exhaust system that you wouldn't have to invest more time + money to fix these annoying little problems.

By the way, this fix is still holding up without any issues. No rattle since I put it in, and no damage to the rubber pieces.

If it is touching on that brace below the driveshaft then yes, it can be fixed by replacing a pipe. I had contact there and also on the driver's side flex pipe. After receiving replacement pipes from injen the problem was solved. Yes, this shouldn't have happened in the first place but it was a hard lesson learned. Don't ever buy a part from a company that has little experience producing it.
