I get random compliments at gas stations or stores all the time. Mine is all stock right now too. Looking at the overall design of the car isn't really far off from today's cars. In age yeh they are old but a cool well designed old. I remember going back into 1999 and 2000 a 14 year old car was horrible. Which would have been late 80's model cars. Once the mid 2000s hit car makers hit the modern style on the nose and slowly deviated the last 15 years. Same designs but more technology rather than the 80's and 90's where exterior designs changed drastically. If Sedans had a wider frame to the rear of the car they would be perfect, more of a flare I guess you would say. Sedans with the Nismo or Kuruka (however you spell it) look just as good as a new G today IMO. I have a 03 and I'm about 90% fully happy with it. I wished I was more educated on these cars and held out and bought a 05 or 06 though. Look at the Cadillac CTS same concept. Aside from what they looked like in 2003 the design is barely changed, slants here and there a body kit changes. A 14 year old CTS looks great. Getting the random compliments on my car proves they don't look old, ha. I had a guy the other day ask me what year it is, told him 03. He was like really it looks alot newer than that.

 

I agree. When ever I tell people my G is an 06 they always say it looks alot newer than that. It's always a good feeling having a car that looks looks newer without having that newer car price. But wider in the rear is a definite yes. I can guess you can try to pull the Fenders but you gotta do it right. Nevertheless the rear still looks good.

That's why I like the first gen cars better, the design holds up over time. the second gen cars just look like another Camry.

 

I agree. I wish the first generation had as much power as the hr's... :/

 

Decided to remove all the stickers on my car and go for a cleaner look. Removed the plastidip to show off the chrome and gunmetal grill. Added Nissan Emblems. Added a black wrap to the roof. This is the first I can say I am satisfied with how she looks and will now begin to mostly look into engine mods. Im recording my build on YouTube if you guys wanna check it out " static danny " ! Looks good, as long as you don't put skyline on there.

 

Mine will stay stock height, roads are terrible here. But Hotchkis anti-roll bars, White Line adjustable end links and a Megan FSTB have definitely helped.

 

So I would be ok with sedan lowering springs on coupe shocks?

 

The problem with OEM shocks is they are designed to operate at the stock ride height. Mine (Reds) we fine for about 6 months with lowering them 1". then they started to leak big time. I slapped on a set of Tokiko D-specs and it' been fine for the last 9 years.

 

How much did the tokicos cost you for all 4?

 

Now remember this was 9 years ago and they were about $660 if I remember right.

If you like performance driving turn the adjusters full stiff and then back them off 4 clicks.

 

Yeah I wanna get decent shocks not so damn expensive. I mean if I'm getting pricy shocks just for springs I would of gotten coils right. The springs I got them for free of a buddy so I'll only be coming out of pocket for shocks. I've read that HP's are pretty good with springs.

 

If you don't need/want the adjustability of the D-spec, you can use the "blue" shocks.
