BOSE 6X9 Removal?

Does anyone know how to remove the rear speaker grilles on the rear deck?
I removed the panel in the trunk but the speakers are screwed in from the top, I tried removing the upper speaker grilles, but they don't appear to just snap off! I did a search on the forum, but didn't come up with anything that really helped! If anyone out there knows how to pot those speaker covers how about some info & pics.

Try this site: http://www.carstereohelp.com . Select 'Car Stereo Removal' and then 'Infiniti' in the left column

If it's a coupe, you can only remove the 6x9 speaker from the top. Same for the speaker grills. There's a DIY somewhere on this site but I don't have a link. It's not an easy process since you basically have to remove your rear seats and the two side panels. From there, you can remove the rear dash panel and clearly see how the speakers are bolted.

I asked an audio shop if they could remove it...they said its a MAJOR PAIN IN THE @$$. I think you have to take the seats out to get to it. I also asked the dealership about taking it out and they said the same

Maybe they're wrong, never actually tried it myself.

to remove 6x9 in coupe:

1- remove rear seat bottom by pulling hard straight up
2- remove rear back rest by removing 2 nuts (12 or 14 mm)
3- remove both rear qtr panels by pulling it to remove the clips
4- remove driver and passenger seatbelts
5- remove both trim panels
6- if applicable, remove rear brake light
7- remove rear parcel shelf
8- gain access to the 6x9

this gives you a general idea on how to get to them. lot more specifics, but it should be fairly intuitive once u get started.

So what your saying is the speaker grille covers are part of the package tray and they come off with the tray? Man what a PIA to get those speakers! All really wanted to do was remove the covers & the third brake lite & child seat hold downs to install to install a one piece cover on the tray!

drsifu1 has given you the general idea.....

here is one of the threads https://g35driver.com/forums/showthr...707#post600707

its really not that bad once you've done it once or twice .....the first time does seem rather ridiculous
