06 g35 coupe with the door lock/ unlock on the door handle on the outside. My coupe has the Intelligent key system, the button on the outside of the driver door which locks and unlocks the car doors does not work! Passager side works just fine, is this something I could fix my self of do i need to take it to a dealership?

My driver door button has been working on and off for a while, now I can't get it to work at all. Were you ever able to solve this issue? Button appears to be part of the handle; I can find the handle on Amayama. I just don't know if simply replacing the handle will return functionality, and whether I can buy the handle and just swap out the button so handle will be color matched....

For 2006 coupe, I believe this is the part required to fix the failing button. It is integral to the handle, and has a pigtail that goes into the door where the handle pivots at the front. I have placed the order with Amayama.com; it is "pending approval." We will see if the order goes through. It's supposed to be my body color, too!

Here's the other direction I'm pursuing: replacement handles for FX35/45 series, of which there are many on Ebay. Much cheaper than the OEM full handle, and I'm pretty confident the handle can be taken apart to extract the button and pigtail and put it in the G35 handle. I see a lot of posts dreading disassembling the door panels to get to the handle, but it's the same sequence for replacing the window motor (which I have done and which people do all the time; it's not too bad). FSM has the step-by-step for removing the door handle. And I love the convenience of the button and I-key combo; it's worth the trouble for me.
