Thumbs up **Wanna Race? San Diego - 02/16/07!!!

Sorry if this is a repost. This racing event, Racelegal.com, has been going on since 1998 but I just learned about it. It's a great idea. According to their website, around 300 cars and 3000 spectators - way less now I heard. Let's get some Gs out there people. Check it out!

http://www.racelegal.com/news/news.asp

It's an alternative racing event to discourage people from illegal street racing, well organized and safe way to race 1/8 mile stretch at San Diego Qualcomm Stadium. They don't have enough room and people to organize 1/4 mile race.

The next race is this Friday 02/02/07, today, 6pm-midnight.

I plan to go to the next one, 02/16/07 - anyone want to join me? Let's go San Diego G enthusiasts, OC, LA....

be safe out there....I've posted same on 6mt.net

haha, there's never 300 cars with 3000 spectators anymore. There's prolly about 50-75 cars (that actually race) with maaaaaybe 800 spectators.

nonetheless its still fun to watch all the different cars run.

Cool, thanks, I've never been there, just got the info from their website. I still want to try it out, at least once.

I used to go down there, when they first started. Was there only about a year ago racing in my ITR for ****z & giggles. Haven't taken the G out there. After I get new tires, I'd be down to go. I don't have a helmet anymore though. Maybe I'll just watch and hang out.

I used to go to the street races too. since 94 until about 2000 when they passed laws that pretty much stopped it. They do not race in thoes area's anymore, it has been dead for years. You don't want to get caught racing in SD anymore. Your car will be gone, and you will be in jail.

Tickets on base are $17 to race $8 for 2 spectators. Make sure that you have a snell helmet and race on the left track (with the big boys) since the right doesn't have much track prep for traction. Have fun!! How are the SD meets going? The Gs never meet up here in ventura

I'm definitely going on 2/16/07- first time ever! Hey hook me up with the ticket. I used to station at NAS Miramar before it was changed to MAS Miramar. Man, I missed going to the PX and getting a $3.75 hair cut, high and tight! Thanks. Good to Go and Semper Fi!

It will be fun if more of you guys, especially in San Diego, going also.
