VQ vs VQ.... 3.5 vs 3.5 for now... N/A vs N/A...

It got a little crazy with statements of 13.8 in 100+ temp... at least Wally copped to DRs... Is this a VQ N/A LACR forum?...

Or pinks - 2 cars for DRs/3 cars for 100 shot NOS... etc???... I'll run with you... I have dirt bag stockers (wheels) with worthless mods... in a ****-poor AT sedan... someone make this sh!tty track worth my while!!!!

Luv ya guys (regs - you know who u r)... but done with the bogus claims!....

The older 03 base models were as much as 250lb lighter than the 03-04 G Coupes!

One thing I was surpriced about was when I read up that the 03 & 04 G35 Sedans weighed in at 3336 lbs... I checked everywhere, and its true.

I always thought the G's ranged from 3414 to 3505, depending on the year/model

330hp @ the flywheel? What dyno did he use? Because I've never read a dyno where they use flywheel power rather than power of the wheel or hub.

I agree though, its fun watching these 2 go at it.

Its funner when you're going at it with someone else

tstt tstt... Henry... I admire your stock fortitude! You ran with a fully modded G coupe at CA Speedway!!!!

I give it to Dee Dee for equaling your ET, and I give it TO YOU for equaling her ET!!!!

I've said it a billion (metaphorically) times... a modded car with minimal experience will meet or exceed an OEM car with dozens of races.

DaveB you are welcome here... I'm a moderately experienced drag racer that has challenged your bogus claims that mods do nothing...

Henry is an accomplished student that has spent time not money on refining his 1/4 mile times... it is admirable to say the least... However - an inexperienced drag racer with mods was able to equal the times.

Does this give kudos to mods or experience?... BOTH!!!!!!

I will challenge anyone that feels that mods are worthless... I have minimal racing experience and basic bolt-ons.

This same "real-world-evaluation" was offered when I had time and ability to meet half way and willing to meet in TX or thereabouts - the posts are out there...

I’m not saying I’m the fastest by any means… in fact, at the track I run Sin (350Z full modded N/A) and WaLLY (fully modded N/A G coupe) have posted quicker times than my car… However, I have ran with both and all but once each beaten them…

This post is nothing more than to put an end to the foolish few that think our mods don’t work. Bring your OEM car to my moderately experienced race and prove me wrong. I WILL POST that I am mistaken if you beat my meager AT sedan.

Sorry to steal the thunder Henry… You will be a force to reckon with when you start modding for certain!!! I like your tenacious research and humble approach… you will have the right set-up for you for sure!!!

Yep, NA mods definately show their magic in the track. Obviously we'd love to see more out of them, but to say the least, they work.

No biggie I definately do alot of research whenever I find spare time; an old cliche... knowledge = power, atleast mentally

I wish I can see better times from my nearly stock G, but I can't expect too much is these high temperature, high elevation tracks.

I still have ALOT to learn though

One thing I love about Irwindale is its ideal conditions as compared to LACR & California Speedway. Too bad its only a 1/8 mile; good practice though

A 350Z 330 HP at the flywheel? I've never heard of that. Latest Z has 306 HP from the VQ35HR; its fast!

The only time we'll see 330 HP from a Z is when it gets the VQ37VHR

the only 330hp motor is the new 3.7 - and it's not out yet... however I drove one and it's really not that impressive (to me)... it's fater than previous stock - but doesnt knock my socks off... I think a modded 3.5 will compete with it...

I swear thats what it said on the sticker when he bought it at the dealership.. thats one of the reasons he got that model and not a base model Z... I think the owner before him might have done something to the computer though. I dont know when we might be going out that way to Irwindale... Ill be sure to make a trip out there though sooner or later.

Personally, I'm really impressed with the VQ37VHR; I think the added weight, ~150lb depending on the model, might be taking some of the glory away from the VQ37VHR in the G37.

If that same motor were in the current G35, i'm sure it would be more impressive.

Looks like the dealer screwed him over. Even with an ECU reflash, he would need alot of supporting mods to reach 330hp @ the flywheel.

If anything, I've learned to never believe anything the dealer said. They tried screwing me over by stating theres no such thing as an 06 Sport Bumper & Sport side-skirts...

Good thing I know more than the dealers

I'm going to LACR tonight; lets see how I do, although I don't expect anything great.
