the conditions were absolutely abysmal!!! Weather.com said it would be 76 by 9:00pm HA!!! Fat chance… our car thermos were reading 90-93…
I had a couple of 9.2+ but was avg 9.3s… a couple of 9.4s… Nothing really worked – I got to the point were I was even launching by break torque – even though the ECU was clearly cutting power initially, I managed to hit 9.2 on one of ‘em – but most of the break torque launches were 9.4… so I did my normal off idle.
Wally did pretty good – he actually managed to run a 9.18! Which was by far the best run of the night… He took every race (except 1)… Wally’s car is doing very well – in cold weather it will be @sskickin’!!! (too bad he won’t be driving it).
It was worth it to hang out and visit with Wally and Adrian? Andrew? (sorry dude, I forgot your name – guy with the Acura)… and to see Wally’s car doing very well… just horrendous conditions.
I’m done with racing in 90+ temps… my last LACR was 90+ at 9:00pm… Fontana 100+, now Irwindale 90 at 9:00pm… I think I’ve finally learned my lesson.

I have a relatively stock 05 Acura TL 5speed auto. W/ just a pulley and a TB spacer, I was getting consistent 9.8s. I'm a bit off the normal pace for our cars (****ing heat lol) will definitely be going back when the weather cools down.
Again, nice meeting you Wally and Mike, btw my name is Shawn.
Nice meeting you Shawn! Always good times to hang around, race, and talk about our cars and ways to improve.
Shawn, PM ME your number so I can text you from time to time and let you know any other times we'll be at Irwindale or California Speedway. thanks man!
I ended up doing 8 runs for the day/night and I got there @ 5:30!! my first race was I would say 10-15 minutes at the very most! AND Mike and I could of done 1 last run around 9:40ish but we decided not to.
Until next time guys! Have a good Labor Day weekend.

Should atleast the MREV2 & HFC added to my current lightly modded 6MT, probably before Cal Speedway or possibly another Irwindale. So this time, I atleast won't be getting smoked by Wally and Mike

As far as dyno tunning, I think I will probably just get the UpRev Osiris and have their tuner (Punkidd) do the fine tuning (free) via chiper data logs; almost as good as a dyno tune, except they can't adjust the timing to pin-point efficiency/aggresive timing like a real dyno tune. Once I add headers, TB spacer, and possibly cams, then I think I will head down to Church's since they are closest UpRev tuner
