.It’s funny because at Fontana DaveO was talking to some guys about mods and asked me “how many Gs or Zs have beat you?”… My response verbatim was “Wally has a good chance now”…
Wally could possibly have one of the fastest N/A VQs around right now… cooler temps will be a better test – but it’s gonna take quite a bit to out run him… you are definitely on the right track though!!!

Wally, you are going down one day or another! Even if it means you need to re-borrow your G!
Both of you guys are my SoCal NA G35 benchmarks to reach.
Ok, back to reality... it will probably be a while until I get into 8's & 13's ; Your car [Mike] & Wally's are definately 8/13 second cars *potentially* in cool weather, low DA's. Especially with good traction (DR's anyone?).
Off-topic: Mike, as far as DR's for Auto's... does it really help the auto G's? I haven't really heard or noticed any NA Automatic G35's in DR's or slicks. I know it definately helps out 6MT drivers, NA or FI. I'm wondering if its a good investments to AT G's like it is to MT G's.
.
Drs help auto Gs also even though they can't rev as high as a 6mt.
I had drs when I was N/A I went from a 14.8 (street) to a 14.4 (Drs) at CS same day.
I plan on doing some runs with and without the drs. Hexx I suggest you do the same so that you know how fast you are on the street with your Works.
I know my fastest time at LACR on 20in was 13.7.

it's funny because I always went to the track to see what my car would do in "real world street conditions"... Initially never took anything out of the trunk - never cared about high rev launch, never considered DR... And I still wouldn’t, but so many people (not here - we all know each others cars) put such heavy emphasis on times that I guess I need to start being more concerned about those things... Last night I had 3/4 tank of gas and fully loaded trunk (including sound deadening foam mat)...
When we go to CA Speedway when the temps are low I might take Derek up on his gracious offering of DR borrow... Takes a lot of team spirit to drag (no pun intended) those things to the track - especially when your not racing Derek! Thanks bro, you're a true enthusiast and team player!!!!
So yeah, I'll figure out a method to defeat the ECU bog from throttle + accelerator issue, slap on the DRs, empty the trunk, run on fumes, and see what I can do at the next race.
Look forward to the boosted shoot-outs too!

I honestly think warming up my tires in the water box helped my times. I normally don't do that, but well, I'll just call it one of those good days

and Mike, you should give yourself credit as well with being one of the fastest N/A VQs too

Mike,
I find myself looking into DR's for two reasons; they will help me hook up better, therefore help out my E.T. And most importantly, to save the life of my normal street tires. These $500 dollar wheels (2 rears) are too expensive for constant drag racing. Considering that I've already done 60+ runs, therefore, atleast 90 "mini" burnouts (pre-stage & stage take-off "burnouts")... I'd rather buy a set of used cheap DR's to slap on
