Maybe making the stock class body kit, wheels, tint? I get what you are saying about that. I love your FX by the way, you got it bagged in San Bernardino at the Candy Factory right?
All good, wasn't taking anything personally. This show seems to be put on by those in the community going out for the fun of it. I'm sure plenty of guys/gals who never thought of even trying showing until their friends drag them out there and they realize it can be fun, I'm in that group as well That first experience is the hard one to get over.

Yup, bagged at the Candy Factory/ Universal Air

I agree some people set the bar to high on there first show and feel let down when they don't win, but they have to realize it's not over night that most of these people that compete build there cars to be these amazing show stoppers. Time money and a lot of patience and hard work. I love the show scene and always will, even though it is being flooded with all the politics and favoritism towards certain people or groups, we all now what cars and people really rock the house.

I was shocked when I saw picks of your ride in there album, being that it's smack in the heart of the ghetto where I live. They do awesome work though and always have some nice rides there, they just had a VIP G35 2dr there a couple days ago on air ride, it was sick all laid out on the ground. See you guys at the show!

Toys 4 Tots Event.....!

In 2005 when the last event of this kind was held it required each of us bring
at least one toy worth $10 to gain entrance. In the five proceeding pages I
was unable to find any mention of bring a toy to this event. Shouldn't this
be a requirement to attend or will we just assume everyone is smart enough
to bring a toy? I'll just bring the toys I had intended to give when last years
show was canceled plus one more for this year. There's nothing in this
world better than the look on a child's face and their laughter when they
receive a toy!

We ask everyone to bring a new unwrapped toy worth at least $10 on the flyer, as well as on the website for the show and on the registration page.

I think Speed Venture's also updated their site... and we're also reminding everyone on their load-in instructions that we'll be sending out in the next day or so.

The only difference this year is that we have to charge spectators the $5 Cali Speedway waiver/access fee (12 years and above), whereas before the access has been free with a toy. Show competitors do not have to pay sep., as it is taken out of their registration fee.

okay, another question: how is it possible to be registered for the show and HPDE on the same day (12/2)? how can you move the car from the show area to the track and vice versa all day?

i should have asked this question before, but i went ahead and registered to race on the 12/1 anyway.

Required insurance for this event is literally 1000x the regular T4T show cost. Because of this we are allowed to move vehicles during the show.

However, we will not allow just anyone to drive around, as we do need to control for spectator safety. There will be an area at the entrance of the show lot, that will be called the "race corral". Any competitors who registered for the show and indicated on their registration that they were participating in the HPDE or Autocross will be alowed to park in the corral and have in/out privs. If they have a team, and they have a majority doing track and show, the whole group will be allowed to park along the corral side. We will park teams with track participants as close to each other are possible.

We are attempting to provide a better situation than when faced with a show like HID where if you want to participate in the dyno competition you cannot park with your team at all. Yes, you may be separated by a few yards at T4T, but you will be close.

Likewise, we have a number of "race" people who registered for the show, but will be parking in the garages & pits. They will have show competition cards for their windshield. Access to the autocross and ROVAL from the garages and pits area will be controlled for traffic vs pedestrians, but open for all participating vehicles, as normal for track days.

Since everyone has access to the pits, and the competitors are the judges, it is up the competitors to walk around and check out/vote for cars they like - both track and show alike

Toys 4 Tots......NEWS FLASH!

I just heard thru the grape vine that we must be at the track by 9AM or
we won't be allowed in registered or not. And that the food we planed on
having won't be available due to track policy so bring enough cash so
you can eat. Ted will probably follow with an update.

NEWS FLASH PHASE ll.......

No, we can't have the event catered but will have to buy food from the
vendors at the track.......my understanding! No biggie, it can't cost more
than Dodger or Angels stadiam....... A hamburger at Houston's in
W.LA. is only $15 how much worse could it be......

Yes, that was information sent out with the load-in email on Thursday AM.

For those of you who registered in the first week or so of October, there was an option to pre-purchase lunch from the Carl's Jr. Star Diner (their event truck). Here's what happened:

=============here is the text from today's email =============

CARL'S JR. STAR DINER was canceled because Cali Speedway's
food concession (Arrowmark) decided that they wanted $1,000 as a buy-out
fee to allow us to bring in our own food service. When we agreed, they
then upped it to $2,000 (greedy @$%*'s). So at that point we could not
provide you with meals without charging you the $'s that Arrowmark would,
which was what we were trying to get away from in the first place. So, in
the end, we are suggesting that you all bring a hibachi BBQ or brown bag
it - no alcohol or full-on catering, please. For those of you having paid
for a meal, you can either opt to eat with the staff (you will get your
fill), or we can send you a refund for the meal portion of your
registration. Please respond to this email, or call Ted (number removed)
to let us know your preference. If we do not hear from you, we'll put a
note in your registration goodie bag to let you know you are eating with
us.

===============

So yes, you can bring your own food and drink. You will not get soup-****'d at the gate like every other show you go to (so you can enjoy your morning cup of coffee rather than being forced to toss it along with your bottle of water)

No, we are not providing any food, expect to those who prepaid for it and still want to eat with us.

Nobody is allowed to sell food or bring a "caterer" in.

Cali Speedway has not decided whether or not they will open their food concession, nor are they likely to notify us of their decision to sell food or not.

As for the 9am thing...as it pertains to the SHOW, yes you will need to arrive and load-in between 7am and 9am. I will be pulling staff from the outer check-in parking lot and into the oval at 9am sharp. That gives us 2 hours to load-in approximately 200 cars, so please be on time. This is no different from any other car show at a mainstream venue. As I stated in the load-in email on thursday, anyone showing up after 9am to load-in for the show may or may not be allowed into the show area, at the discretion of the show staff. this shouldn't shock anyone, as many shows will even lock you out before the end of load-in time if they fill up. That probably won't happen here, but I just can't have people waiting for a few laggers when I need my volunteers working other areas.

Spectators can come whenever they like (show opens to the public at 10am)

For HPDE/TRACK or AUTOCROSS timing/arrival constraint, - please contact Speed Ventures with those questions.

P.S. I will most likely not be checking any forums between now and show time (ya, i say that now, but we all know the addiction

anyway, those of you who are registered have my number or know someone on Team Transport - so just reach out. please don't count on PM's or posts here. we're literally watching 100+ forums and sites, so now I'm just focusing putting everything together for Sunday.

-T

P.S. thanks again for your support and continued patience.

SHOW Update
Load-in info has been emailed. It is also posted to the show site at:
http://www.T4TCarShow.com/loadin.htm

HPDE/Track & Autocross Update

Online registration will close for HPDE/Track at 9pm tonight, but walk-ons will be welcome both Saturday and Sunday for Intermediate and Advanced Drivers. We are out of Beginner spots.

Walk-ons are welcome for the autocross, too.

No walk-ons for HPDE/Track beginners because the white groups are full and Speed Ventures will not have any instructors standing around... everybody is assigned and will be working with their pre-registered drivers.
