I figured you'd be the first bite. So don't be a biter and flake!

I'm just a little concerned I might take too big of step sideways into 2nd or 3rd and spin her. So it might be worth coming out to watch.

What other option do we have...

Cal Speedway only does 1/4 mile events aboout a handful of times a year... and you're lucky to get 3 runs in 6 hours of waiting.

I'm going to the SFV meet too, so I can't sign up for this one.

fontana..

1/8th mile is a wate of money...that from one light to the next or less

and you dont need to go to the track to work on your launches

ill go to watch, but $20 to race 1/8th mile for 3-5 runs....no thanks

Fontana IS Ca Speedway... like Henry (skaterbasist) said street legal are only a handful of times per year - only 2-3 times when the weather is decent... Irwindale is every week and you easily can get more than 3-5 runs... I think WaLLys record is over 10.

1/8 mile is certainly not as desirable as 1/4... but definitely worth it nonetheless. IMO

How are you going to know if your launches are good in the street? I use to think my launches were excellent...until I wen't to the track. Don't know about anyone else, but I cannot tell the difference between a 2.00 60ft launch and a 2.4 60ft launch...big difference in drag racing.

Drag racing has become an addiction and since our choices are very limited, we really don't have a choice.

You can squeeze out 8 runs if you get there by 4:30. You can get 5 quick runs within the first 1:30-2:00 hours, and then it gets really packed for the last 2 hours

Food for thought - practicing launches anywhere but a track is considered exhibition of speed, so be careful.

And cali speedway's 2 run saturdays are any better?

I'm not practicing my launches...I'm just putting down times for the 1/8th against whoever I get matched up against. Again, not as fun as a 1/4, but still fun. Also, an attitude like "not worth it", is exactly what kills tracks.

I'd rather spend $20 at an 1/8m track then pay $20 to see a new movie with a large popcorn and drink, or hit Starbucks 3-4 times a week, or eat fast food 3-4 times a week.

Chalk it up to personal preference.

Ya, I'll be there. I'll PM ya my cell #.

For the 1/8th mile haters, no need to respond or comment. I have run many a 1/4 and do prefer them, but I need a weeknight out.

I can't since I have class tonight and I'll be getting out until 8 or so..

I'll be going to the SFV meet right after class though. Classes end mid Dec. so I'll be sure to set-up a meet in the next few weeks.

let us know who else ends up going. have fun guys.

my record is 11 runs. I still had about 15 more minutes to do a few more runs but at the time my older bro was having some trouble with his Accord and I had to stop

oh well, I'm sure I'll get another night like that sometime.
