does anyone have the link saying you need a fire jacket to race with non oem FI at CS?

I was telling the guys on my 350z about it and got blasted saying it's not true.

If someone has the link can you post it in their CS 1/4 mile thread? I think they have 3-5 guys on their list. I think 1-2 of them are going to run nitrous.

I just don't want anyone to get up at the crack of dawn and find out they can't race because they don't have a jacket.

I was asked the time we went to Irwindale, one of the guys with a Vortech was asked for a jacket in Nov.

I have a copy of the 2007 NHRA rulebook on my desktop at work. It definitely says that a non-OEM turbo/SC/nitrous vehicle requires a fire retardant jacket. If they don't want to believe you, let them waste their time getting up way early and driving to Cali Speedway only to get turned away (assuming of course that they are enforcing the rules).

EDIT:Here is where I downloaded the rulebook from: http://www.nhrasportcompact.com/2007/rules/index.html Section 10:10 reads, 13.99 to 10.00; all E.T. non-OEM supercharged, non-OEM turbocharged or nitrous equipped cars with an OEM or 0.24 inch steel firewall: Jacket meeting SFI Spec 3.2A/1 mandatory.

 

I just posted over there Derek. If they wanna take the chance, that's on them. Maybe they won't enforce it but if they do enforce it and they don't have the required jacket, it's gonna be a long ride home.
