He is putting upgraded turbos in his car soon and it he will pushing 1,500+ now.
20B is a lot better but the only reason why people dont get it is cuz its hard to find and a little illegal lol
Plus is lighter than an LS1. I'll ask him to come to the meet one day.
That's your reasoning behind being against an LS1 swap? Weak! (no offense)

Easy way out? Why would you want to complicate things? For bragging rights? Your friend has an ego problem if he laughts at other RX7's with LS1 swaps.

I love the sound of American V8's. That, along with the potential they have makes it a smart move for anyone wanting to swap out an FD motor.

P.S LS1 swaps aren't as easy as your friend makes it seem.

You want fast.

This a 20B motor by Rotomasters
This is not even the fastest rx7, the fastest does 6's with a rotary motor lol

I wouldn't be looking to make a 9 second RX7. An 11 second trapping over 115 would be more than enough. That's pretty damn fast for a daily driven RX7

Besides, if I were to make an RX7 a project car, it would spend most of its time around a circuit track/road course and not a drag strip.

Why dont you just by a vette?
Why not put in your G35? Same thing as putting in a japanese car lol

My friend is also a specialist and as much power an LS1 has, it cannot compare to a boosted 20B rotary motor. His car has had over 1000+ for over a year now and hasnt had one problem. It also has a 2 speed dogbox tranny lol

All im saying is that a LS1 doesnt belong in that car. As much as you have to put into the car, your putting an american motor into a japanese vehicle.
The fastest rx7 doesnt have a LS1 motor in it because first it wont be an rx7 and second it cant be made as fast because its so damn heavy compared to a 20B. lol

The video i posted was a 20B motor and is Chris car is just as fast.
He says LS1 is for pussies lol

I talked to him about it because i wanted to do it too but he changed my mind and the guy who made his car (worlds fastest rx7 builder) changed my mind. lol

I'm just telling you. You can get a Ls1 and have that V8 power but if you want speed and still want the to be light weight and not so noticeable to cops, then go with a 20B motor bro.

If you talk to him, im sure he'll change your mind lol

Thats also another thing, weight has a big difference on track.
20B is a 2 litter motor you know that right. lol
Compare the weight to a V8.

You and my friend should talk. He knows a lot about this car than most people ever will. Thats his life, he has 2 rx7s and each are boosted.

Dude, you're making it seem like I want 1000+ horsepower...

An LS1 can but put in a minivan if the owner wants to. There's no such thing as "it doesn't belong in X car".

An all aluminum small block V8 does not weight a lot. In fact, it actually weighs about the same, if not less than some rotary engines out there.

Or atleast that's what most tuners claim in the RX7 forums.

I'm not saying you want 1,000 hp but it was pretty damn easy lol
A lot easier than making a G35 doing 11s lol

Do what you want bro, but im saying this from a person whose had bit of an experience with the car and knows a few good and bad things about it.

Anyways....
