Yes, when I was stock.
The 5AT has weak gearing and I wouldn't expect it to keep up or beat an S2k unless it was at higher speeds (+100 mph). I'm not saying the 6MT is MUCH faster than the 5AT but there definitely is a significant difference. The gearing on the 5AT needs at least a 3.7 FD to match the stock gearing on the 6MT.
And since we are talking about trannys: The new 7AT puts the old 5AT to shame! Random, yes, I know

I LOVE Honda's hahaha i got's more respect for honda motors than anyother make. I know you can make any car fast blah blah, but pushing 305 whp out of a 2.0L motor running only 8 lbs of boost on 9:1 is pretty amazing!!!
I just say...who needs torque when you're revin to 9k+

but i will say WAYYYYYYYYYY more ricers follow the honda scene than over here which makes me sad.
