It's not awful, just long. It's on par with the first film. A sequel that does not top the first one or disappoint. I came away satisfied but wishing there was more. Not in terms of length but more energy from it.
Going in the film, you knew what to expect in terms of action and story so everything Michael Bay did that made the first one great was just a repeat play.
I liked it. It's a huge epic movie. It starts off slow but the action builds quite nicely.
Sadly I had drank only a bottle of wattle and half way through the movie, I had to go. I ran out (more like briskly walked) after the movie was over. It felt like I had pissed out devastator!

I watched "Transformer" midnight showing on IMAX in Irvine and I felt that there was not enough character involved. Not like the first one . I was in the credits! "Arcee" lol
