I've learned there are always two sides to every story. In this case I would suspect there are probably 3-4 sides to the story.

Here's a question. When you took the car in to Chris, who signed off on the paperwork? Did you or your dad take the car in? The reason I ask is that if you took the car in and they released it to a third party (even your dad w/ the title in hand) they violated a number of laws. I believe you could have a nice lawsuit against Chris and the shop. They MUST contact you by law (at least here in KY) before they can remove the car from their shop. And with that said, if you dad kicked you to the curb then I would damn well take him to small claims court. If nothing else to show him that you are an "adult" and there are consiquences for anyone to make a hasty decision

my dad took the car to Engine Logics and was getting everything taken care of. I was merely being talked to only to get my input on what parts we were going to use.

yeah, i have all my receipts and i could propose a case that could win, but i dont have the money to hire a lawyer to defend my case. theres really not much i can do, nor want to do. i wanna try living on my own. i really think i can make it.

OMG, just read this whole thing and i've decided if this is it to the story, then your dad is retarted. worse case even if someone stole your entire motor and tranny and nothing was salvageable, a motor/tranny can be had for less then 10k. way less. 12k for repairs is completely unexplainable. EL or whoever they are sound like a bunch of rapists. ti'm sure they sold the car for 10k to someone else and made $ on the deal and whoever paid 10k still made out like a bandit. even if they doubled it and sold it for 14k someone still made out. your dad screwed you and i'd def do something to at least try to get some $ back. This is why i've always bought my own cars even when i was 17 because i didnt want my parents doing anything stupid. Now your dad kicked you out of the house??? thats another thing, who kicked there kits out. this whole thing is nuts

well from what I read, you did tell your dad to take care of it.... and then hung up on him. He paid for most of the car, put a roof over your head, has probably given you everything you wanted.... and when you had a few choice words for him, he gave you what you deserved.... now you are whining about this because?

yeah, but his DAD BOUGHT THE CAR.... then "exchanged a few choice words with his dad".

Would you put money into a car you did not own, or was owned by someone you had a volatile relationship with?

he took a risk and lost.... so why whine about it....

I was there at the shop today getting my car dynoed and let's just say that there is WAY more to the story than is being told here.

I don't feel one bit sorry for you and you are a spoiled brat. Grow up and stop posting trash on the forums.

I was told you took a loan out on the car to buy a bike and that your dad wasn't aware of this. Then after the various stories about your car, he was fed up and wasn't going to fix your car again. Then found out about the loan against the G, had to pay that off and then sold the car "as-is" to the guy who offered up the money.

The money was never yours it was always yours dads. The money for the "toys" was never yours and was always your dads. I was told this was your 3rd car in a matter of a few years and that you wrecked the G twice.

I saw your car today at the shop and was told the whole story. SO you told your side and now I told the other side. Let people decide for themselves.

I picked up a used motor AND tranny for $3K a few years ago. Labor would be ~$1500 top to put the car back to stock.

I wouldn't be pissed at all about the offer. The guy new very little about the car, and the condition it is in. What if both turbos are seized as well? Then, I would say $7000 would be an almost fair offer.

Of course the guy could have offered $17000 and the Dad doesn't want the son to know how much he got out of it!

All the money i have ever spent on this car has been my money. Whether earned, given or inherited, it was mine. I got into an argument with my dad and i figured he would have the sense to not make such an irrational descision and sell the car for $7k when he knows it is worth so much more.

Youre completely ****ing retarded. You know nothing about me. I talked to chris, which im sure you talked to and got this info, and he pieced together his own story about what happened. I took Chris' advice as a parent and aplogized to my dad and asked him to help me get a car and get rid of the bike since im 19 and do not have enough credit to do so. He told me to find a way to get a car and deal with it. Luckily i have a friend who works at the honda dealer where i got my fit so he helped me to get the deal worked out.

The loan agaisnt the car my dad knew about. Think about it, the car is in his name thus any bank would require that person to be a cosigner to approve the loan. He knew about it and it was for me to pay for a semester at Tech, fix the bike after an accident i had, and pay some bills.
