Two of my buddies and I were coming back from 6th Street after some pool at Buffalo Billiards at 2am on Friday morning. The freeway was pretty open, just me and this Ninja. We were going back and forth a little bit, having some fun with our respective vehicles when I decided to kick up the RPM and passed him. Then I slowed down a bit, didn't want to get a ticket for speeding. This is when I saw a pair of headlights in my rear view mirror gaining on me, then pulled to my right side and slowed down. He was even with me when I looked over. I saw reflective decals on the side of the car, which is when I went "OH ****!" Yup, it was a trooper alright I saw the officer look over and mouthed "WTF?!" So I'm pretty much doomed right? Then the surprise hit. Instead of slowing down, pulling behind me and turning on the sirens, he stepped on it and zoomed past me. Right now all three of us in the car were just baffled. WTF JUST HAPPENED? Today, I feel like the luckiest man on the face of the earth We saw him later pulling into a drive way with his sirens on...must be that we were saved by some criminals who committed a crime much greater than speeding

Then about 5 mins later on Parmer, after dropping off one of my friends, I was playing around with the VDC off when I saw familiar headlights behind me at a red light. I took off on green, then slowed down to pull side-by-side with my fellow G35 coupe driver. I looked over and there were 2 girls driving. I gave them a friendly waive and the passenger waived back. Later, we came to another red light, they were a lane away from me on the right. When it turned green, we both floored it, going neck and neck. I was surprised a girl would race me! By the time we got to 4th gear, I had about half a body length on her and decided to slow down due to the trooper from earlier. I'm impressed at how she stayed with me (probably driving an automatic and just kept the pedal to the metal ). We came to another light. I looked over and they did too, waiving at me . That was the most fun I've had with another G35 driver. I'm just glad we shared that moment of comradery between G35 owners! I hope the driver and her friend are on this forum. If you are, let me know, we should get a meet together!

Thanks for the advice. I know, I've been eyeing the V1 ever since I started looking for a car, but they're so expensive and eBay isn't much cheaper... I probably should get it regardless, after yesterday. And those open roads are just too tempting!!!

No, although I did see a black G35 with 2 girls during lunch hour on the Mopac feeder going north. They took a right onto Parmer after I passed them.

The girls I mentioned in the post drove a DG coupe.

I'm just bugging izmir41500. He and I were both mechanical engineering majors up at UT. He graduated last May (or summer?) while I just graduated this past Saturday.

And I'm not going to be in Austin much longer. I accepted a job back in Houston (where I'm originally from), and I'm moving back the first week in January.

 

Hey bo, yah I live down south and I've run into the Black G a few times in downtown Austin. Most of G action happens in Houston and always on a Friday. Makes me wonder how many G drivers are out here in Austin. I met one G driver he drove a white one but forgot his name. He had 20's riding on his G.

 

Hey Matt, Congrats on graduating. I finished in August, and I'm in Dallas now. I should've taken a job in Houston. Seems like a bunch of us ME's are goin down there for jobs. Do your parents still have those AMG's. Man what I would give to have either one. I prolly would have out ran the troopers with those.

 

There are lots of G coupe drivers in Austin, but just not that many on this forum. Most people I see driving them are either middle-aged women, teenager girls, or guys who doesn't seem like car ethusiasts.

Nevertheless, I still waive to every G coupe driver I see

I'm not surprised lots of MEs are in Houston, since they've got all those oil companies. My dad is actually a ME with Baker Hughes.
