dealer service?? smervice..

ok.. i was so mad this weekend that i just wanna share my experience with North Houston Infiniti. i bought my car there last august. they treated me really good when i was still buying, of course.. but now that i already bought the car, forget being nice. anywayz, i was having problems with my door locks. sometimes it would not lock or unlock with the remote, or even with the power lock button. i had an aftermarket alarm installed with a pager, remote start, windows roll-up, and the works... i love my car and i enjoy that kind of stuff.. i had it in my previous car. anywayz. i had taken it back to the shop that i bought it from.. and they said that it's factory.. they told me to take it back to the dealer's. they also said that if the dealer says that they messed it up, they would reimburse me for whatever the dealer charges me. now, i live in the valley.. we don't have an infiniti dealer here.. closest one is in san antonio.. but since i had bought my car in North Houston, i decided to bring it there instead. 2 weeks ago, i called and i spoke with the receptionist.... she transferred me to service.. nobody answered..so i told her that i was planning to go up there the next day... (this was a friday).. i was just making sure that they were open and if they were gonna provide me with a loaner while they worked on my car. and she said 'yeah, as long as i have an appointment.. so she transferred me to service again.. i got a machine, so i left a message with my problem and that i was planning to go there the next day, and left my phone no. then i called the receptionist back and told her that i left a message and i asked her if i needed to call back to confirm.. and she said no, that was sufficient to set up an appointment. so i drove to houston later that day (approx 350 miles).. got a speeding ticket on the way there!! stayed in a hotel that night and the next day, i went to drop off my car... then the guy told me that i didn't have an appointment. so i told him that i had left a message. he said it's not there.. and that they didn't have mechanics on the weekend... so i was like, so i came all the way over here for nothing?? he just told me to set up an appointment and come back. so i set up another appointment for friday, dec. 16. at 0900... i had already let them know about the problem. so dec. 16 comes, i drove in again on the 15th. stayed in a hotel... dropped off my car at 0845. i spoke with the same guy i had spoken to 2 weeks ago. the moment he realized that i had installed an aftermarket alarm on my car, he just flipped.. he was treating me like i wasn't a customer anymore... at first he said that they wouldn't even touch my car. so i was like well, if u guys can't figure out wat's wrong with it, then who can? u guys made the vehicle..so he said well, we're gonna charge u $100.00 just to diagnose it. so i said that's ok..i just wanna know what's wrong with it.. then he started telling about what could be wrong.. that the shop probably fried the main system... telling me it could cost up to 2400 just to fix it. so i told him to just diagnose it for now, and we'll go from there. so he rudely threw some papers in front of me.. told me to sign here, here and here.. and gave me keys to a g35 sedan and said he'll call me as soon as they find out what's wrong.. so i took their car and drove around houston... 5 hours later, no call from them.. so i called them and asked.. they were 'busy'.. so i left a message.. an hour later, the guy calls me back and said they're not done with u'r car yet... they are so busy today.... so i said no news at all? and he said 'well, they haven't even taken u'r car in coz they're so busy... " so i said, but i had an appointment... he said well, u'r gonna have to leave u'r car here... and by monday, i should be able to tell u what's wrong with it.. so i said " i'll just keep this car i'm driving? there's no mileage limit on this?" and he said, "yeah.. it's 75 miles/day... so for three days, u have about 300+ miles to use over the weekend.." ok first of all, 75 x 3= 225.... so i glance at my odometer and found that i had already driven over 85 miles on it in 5.5 hours... so i said, well, that's not gonna work coz i have to work on sunday.. and i live 350 miles away from here.. so he said he'll talk to the guys in the shop and he'll call me back... so i was already upset.. i drove straight over there... i was ready to just take my car and leave.. but when i got there... he had my car in the shop. they were taking my door panel off and ... so i gave him back his keys and i waited there.. and every 10 minutes, he would run to me telling me that it looks really bad... the shop had done this, and done that... we're probably gonna need to replace this and replace that... blah blah blah... he keeps talking to me in "probably" terms... and none of it is fact... so i went in the shop and the service manager spoke to me... and what was bad about it is that everything they would say, they have that implication that i shouldn't have added on that alarm... i didn't need them to judge that.. i just wanted them to tell me why the damn door locks is malfunctioning and how to fix it...i mean, it's my car... i bought the damn car.. i should be able to add anything i want into it.... so i gave him a piece of my mind...i explained to him why i'm upset.. starting from a couple of weeks before.. all the mileage i've put in driving back and forth to that place.. the speeding ticket that i got.. the hotel stay.. why they're barely taking my car in at 3 pm when i had an appointment at 9 am that i had set 2 weeks in advance... the 75 mile/day limit that nobody ever mentioned... and of course, the longer they keep my car, the more miles i have to drive in theirs.... and most of all, after they probed and probed under there.. i drove off with the same lock problem, plus now, they managed to stop my windows from working too... i had to open my door everytime i had to pay toll on the beltway...

they didn't charge me the $100. though.. i let them talk to the shop people and the shop manager talked to me and told me to just bring it back in and they'll fix it themselves...

in other words, the service people didn't do anything... no wait, i take that back.. they did manage to stop my windows from working, which was fine before i took it to them.. and they washed my car for FREE!!.. but it was raining outside......

so Don't Ever Take u'r car to NORTH HOUSTON INFINITI.... service there SUCKS.....

my car's fine now.. i took it back to the shop yesterday and they fixed it in 5 hours... which they coulda just done in the frist place... *sigh*...

just thought i'd vent... hehe... thanx for reading....

Too bad Infiniti will not allow a dealer to open an Infiniti location there. Mr Van Burkleo has already tried.

Re: valley

BaddDogg,

I can only imagine one company servicing your G. I know they are in McAllen & Harlingen for sure. I just can't think of their name since I am here in Houston. I use to compete in car audio compititions all over the Valley and well beyond. Is the place doing service on your G on 10th street in McAllen?

Re: valley

BaddDogg,

Have you thought about taking your G to Bert Ogden Nissan or Charlie Clark Nissan in Harlingen? Since there is no Infiniti dealership anywhere near the Valley, they "might" be able to look at it.

I thought you have taken your G to D-Tronics. They are nice guys and have done a thing or two to my cars almost 10 years ago.

Re: valley

sup man.. i grew up in the valley too.. i know which d-tronics you're talking about.. i remember when they first opened too.. they had a branch over on nolana..

who did you talk to at NHI? i can attest to your comment about the difficulty in reaching the service dept, but they did a pretty good job for me.. i'm not sure why it would be different for you.. maybe it was the rep you were dealing with.. anyway, i'm not sure why they can't open one up in the valley.. esp. with jag, mercedes, bmw, hummer dealers opening up.. infiniti will come around. i'd think bert ogden might be one of the first to get one if they did..

Re: valley

Yeah, I know who Jason is. I don't like him, I have dealt with Tish at North Houston Infiniti. You are correct about always getting their voice mail, they are bad about returning calls if you leave a message. They are nice people, but they have been unsuccessful in fixing my rattle problem in my windows. They tried that whole 75 mile thing with me too, and I went straight to the general manager, I live 110 miles from the dealership. They no longer question when I need a loaner. I have called consumer affairs and will be taking my car to another dealership to have them try to fix the popping windows. North Houston has tried 3 times to fix the windows and have yet to replace anything, they keep doing the same crap over and over. DUH, it's not working!!!

Re: valley

I had a bad experience at SouthWest Houston Infiniti, so I let my feet
do my talking and went to West Houston Infiniti. I have been pleased
with them, as Joe Gonzales was able to get the rattles out of my G.
Their parts department is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
much better than SW Houston Infiniti. I asked the creep at SW
Houston Infiniti how much the rear underbody diffusers would cost.
The JERK told me $700! I bought them at West Houston Infiniti for
around $25 a piece. What a POS SW is.

Re: valley

clm288,

Call Joe @ West Houston Infiniti. He has a guy who will work on your car and fix all of the problems that you have problems with. Please do not be in a rush. Joe was a guy who has dealt with many of the G35 internal problems like we've had in our cars. All I can say is that the problems will never be completely taken care of, but Joe will get it done as well as they can. All I can say is that Infiniti did the interior installation in our cars poorly. The design and performance is great, but not the interior.

If you wish to get in touch with Joe, call his direct line @ 281/589-6838. If you get his voice mail, please leave him a message. Joe will call you back. If you wish to call the dealership directly, call 281/589-9009. If and when you see Joe, please do not be in a rush. You will have to point out everything inside your car that has problems. You will also have to drive around the area with them in your car. It will talk about 30-45 minutes to let Joe hear the problems.
