Tire pressure sensors, a $900 flat tire
Tire pressure sensors, a $900 flat tire
I put on aftermarket wheels and tires. I have now been told that the air pressure sensors in the coupe are in the valve stems. (I already sold the original tires to a guy in Houston and I live near Dallas.) That seems odd, because the tire pressure light came on AFTER I had already changed the wheels. I checked and corrected all the pressures and then the indicator light went off. How could that be, considering the factory rims were long gone?
Jennifer at Grubbs Infiniti near DFW is the one that told me the air pressure sensor is in the valve stems. Anyone ever heard of that?
I just had a flat on the left rear. The low profile tires give no cushion when flat or real low. The rim bent and I spent $150 having it fixed. They are $400 each new. The rear tires are out of production, so I had to buy two rear tires (so they would match) and that hit me for over $700.
