hey ive been browsing for a double din kit for my g and i stumbled across a kit (not jdm) that is local here in houston. its alot less than buying the jdm kit... however i cant vouch for quality yet as i havnt bought it yet. but hell... its in houston. if it doesnt fit or look right... ill take it back! they also have the antenna adapters and such. they will also install for you as well.

if anyone else knows where to get the jdm kit locally.... please feel free to post a link or phone number so i can compare the two in person.

oh- and if you have the dual climate a/c in your g.... you wont lose that option as you will with the jdm kit. this one has the button built in. if you dont have it... its just a dummy button. something jdm should have done in my opinion.

i wouldnt buy the knock off. i would just spend the money and get the real double din kit. i thought about the knock off, but then i look at it and i didnt like the finish. so i went ahead and orderd the jdm double din kit from Grubbs.

you will loose the dual climate.

 

thanks for the input... hey did you need to buy the bracket that grubbs sells that other kits claim you dont need? riverside infiniti's kit doesnt have the bracket and claim you dont need it. my car is in the shop for a week or so, so im in no big hurry. but i just bought my double din eclipse nav and id like to get the kit before i get it out of the shop. (kenstyle rear and nismo front end being put on!

 

i bought the jdm climate control,dash kit, and the non navi bracket from grubbs. you will also need to get the bose interface harness

 

so you bought it... but did you NEED it when installing your dd? or would it have been possible to utilize the installation bracket that comes with your dd head unit? so i need to the bose interface harness..... will i need any antenna adapters that i see floating around as well?

 

Has anyone here found a worthy person to install their DD in Houston?

Has he done a double din install on a G35 for you?
