Re: Oklahoma

Lookin' at the response not a lot of hard core G owners in our region.
I'm in the OKC metro (Moore).
Just completed a Vortec S/C install complimented by Injen SES.
Hopin' to find an affordable dyno here to see the results.
Look me up, email DbSQjunkie@aol.com. (yeah i'm into sound quaility competitions as well).
Should have my system installed by the end of April.
Name's Charlie .......welcome!

Where did you get the install done, or did you do it yourself?

Re: Oklahoma

Wow I would really like to see that also!! It's been hard trying to catch up or talk to other G owners in OKC. Unfortunatly my car is on order and I am not for sure when it will arrive. Bob Moore Infiniti said it usually takes about 120 days and they just put the order in last week. I hope it doesn't take that long. I am ordering it with out the splash gaurds and they said that is what will take so long for it to come in. They said about 80% of the coupes are being built with the splash guards now.

Re: Oklahoma

Hey DBS. Got to say your install is great. I want a Vortech now. LoL. Already spent almost $9,000.00 in mods though already. Time to save up again. We finished the DD finally. Hope to meet up with everyone with the G35 around OKC. Not too many that are modded around. I was shocked when I saw DBS black one (8 pound Vortech) at the stereo shop when I was getting my custom installation.

Re: Oklahoma

Hey. I live on the Northside of OKC. I was the "ginnie" on my car audio installation so I can say now that they know the G35 coupe in and out. Audio Extreme did the installation. I got to say the job they did was exceptional. I will be posting pics soon in the forums of the install and mods. DBS I believe saw the installation. I had to wait about 4 months for the coupe to come in and I bet you are excited. I love the splash guards though. Don't let that hold you up. I ordered mine without them but they came with it and I loved it. They are color matched to the body so they look like ground effects plus they do a wonderful job of "protecting". I had the OEM front spoiler installed too. I think they are coming stock with those on it now.

Re: Oklahoma

Can't wait to see the pics. If they do come on it that is fine but the dealer better not make me pay for them.

Re: Oklahoma

Love the pics.

I did have a question though to ask either of you to get your opinion. When I get the car is there a certain amount of miles I should put on it (like a break in period) where I should be easy on the car? If so will it hurt the car if you get on it a few times before. I was just wondering because Iknow the cars that you get to test drive the people usually al get on them hard to see what they will do. I shouldnt have to worry about it since mine is being built butt shouldnt I get on it once or twice to seeif it drives like the others? I always get confused when it comes to that. I hear some people say to drive it hard when you get it and others to let it break in about 1000 miles and then its ok. Only thing is I have to wait to put 1000 miles on it in may be an extra month or two before I actually get to have fun in it. considering it will be a weekend fun car. Plus even if I drive it to work my work is only 4 miles from my house...lol Anyway thanks for any input on this issue you all may have.

Also one of the first things I would like to get for the car is maybe a K&N drop in. Any others suggestions are welcome and or maybe if I can see what you all have done with yours I could maybe have you all help me with mine when I get it.

Re: Oklahoma

Also wanted to know if any of you recommend a good air intake. And were to go if there is a place to go for stuff to be done to the car in OKC.

Re: Oklahoma

A lot of the g35's in socal have been getting the Injen cold air intake. I'm not sure how practical this would be with okla's weather though (don't want to get any water in the intake). My second choice is Stillen's intake.

Back when I was in OKC there were a few shops but it was like a couple of kids that opened a shop...no one really knew what they were doing or talking about. I just didn't trust them. You should be able to install the intake pretty easily yourself, although the Injen cold air intake requires you to remove the front bumper for install.
