Where's all the G's in Albuquerque
Well I can't wait until he crashes it and I buy all of his parts from the junk yard =] haha it's insanely windy, but if I can get some garage time, I'm going to paint my calipers and recoat my wheel wells today!
supercharged G35 at Dions in Albuquerque
There was a lot of other stuff done to the car besides the supercharger also. But the $13,000 isn't unheard of for everything that has been done to the car so far. It just shows how all that stuff slowly adds up.
The trans didn't fair to well. To many miles on the same fluid, then the extra power wasn't helping it either. I'm sure he'll be back out there once the trans comes in.
His parents purchased a used kit from a GTM car. It has a big supercharger. It made me a believer about the centrifugal superchargers on these cars. It made more power than the other twin turbo G's start to almost finished. I had to keep turning down the boost to prolong the life of the motor. It was a fairly amusing phone call to Vortech to request a larger pulley. They kept on asking me about if I was sure about wanting a larger pulley.

I know you guys do good work and ill be bringing my car to you this summer for a tune, but on a stock non rev up vq35 pushing 400+ hp i feel like its not a matter of "if" things are going to go wrong its "when"
Anytime you modify a car, you're taking a risk.
It was pushing a little over 400. I had to change pulleys to get the boost down.
There's another auto g in this town with a GTM twin turbo on it pushing just over 400. Been that way for over a couple years now. But there's always that chance, that one day, it will snap a rod.
While 17 is considered young for a car of that nature, sometimes, I've delivered cars of this nature to young people and seen how the car matures them. I've also had older customers wreck there cars. I'm not good at judging a person's character to know if they're ready for a high performance car. I just work on cars, not people. To me, going fast makes no sense, it's just fun.
