Suspension Installer in Houston?

I just acquired a "Sport Tuned Suspension" from another
member on this board. Now I need to find someone in the
Houston area who can install the struts and springs without
charging me an "arm and a leg". Just for grins, I asked West
Houston Infiniti how much they would charge..........hehe....
They stated that the book labor time was 1.5 hours per strut.
Holy ****! That's over $600, without an alignment.
I know there must be a performance shop around Houston
that can do quality work for a reasonable price. Any ideas
would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Suspension Installer in Houston?

Well,

For anyone who is interested, I called Performance
Suspension of the Woodlands and described what I wanted
done. They gave me a quote of $300 over the phone. On
Saturday, I drove up the the Woodlands from Sugar Land to
check this place out. When I showed them the parts, they
dropped their price to $200. I made an appointment for them
to install the Sport Tuned Suspension on Saturday, Sep 25th.
I will get an all wheel alignment at Firestone immediatly
afterwards. Wish me luck!

This South forum is really Sorry!
I can hear my echo from the emptyness!
I guess there are no G35 lovers in the Houston area.
How sad................................

Re: Suspension Installer in Houston?

Yeah, I live in DownTown. I check the SW forum once or twice a week just to remind myself how pathetic the SW forum is. We have the lowest thread/post count, yet we have the largest state. I think theer are only a few of us here that really into our cars and only 2 that owns a sedan.

There was a guy selling his Stillen Dual Exhaust and Crawford + others for 800, but he sold it before I noticed. I'm trying really hard to find Coupe 18's for a good price first tho. Oh well, gives me a reason to come on this forum 20 times a day.

Re: Suspension Installer in Houston?

You want to put the 18s on your sedan? That just might slow
it down a bit. But it would look cool!

Yeah, I just had my first child so all my upgrades have been put on hold except the 18'.

I noticed you put the sway bars on. How do you like it? I was considering it at one point.

Re: Suspension Installer in Houston?

The Stillen sway bars are great! Now I can take my favorite
corners at a very high rate of speed. Stuff flys all around
my cabin now. The improved handeling of the sways made
me realize I wanted the Sport Tuned Suspension over
the non-sport suspension that came on my sedan.
The suspension install is scheduled for this Saturday
at 9:00 am

Re: Suspension Installer in Houston?

Finally didi it!
I drove up to Woodlands Performance Suspension last
Saturday and had the sport tuned suspension installed.
It took Curtis 1.5 hours to swap out all four corners and to
switch my Stillen front sway bar to the softest setting. Shaun,
the owner, said the G35 suspension is really simple and
wished the Hondas and Subarus were as easy to work on.
Cost me $200, then I drove down the road to Firestone
where I got the $140 lifetime all wheel balance. The new
suspesnion is actually a nicer ride! Real smooth on straight
away driving, easy on the rough roads and mean in the
curves. I'm really happy with the new suspension and the
work performed by Woodlands Performance Suspension.

Re: Suspension Installer in Houston?

Berry good man. You got some before and after pics?

I'd like to see the difference. I'm trying to close a deal with someone on the forum for his 18's, and then I will probably get the eiback springs on my car. Co-worker said we could probably knock it out ourselves, although after reading on g-owner how to do it, i might just pay to have someone do it. Curious as to why you when to Firestone for the lifetime stuff. Discount does it for 26 a tire? So what's next for your baby?!

Re: Suspension Installer in Houston?

You can't tell that the sedan has a different suspension from
looking. The sport vs non-sport has no ride height difference.
The reason I used Firestone was that they were located just
a few miles away from Woodland's Performance Suspension.
I did not want to drive very far without having the all-wheel
alignment. $140 for a lifetime laser all wheel alignment seems
pretty good to me. I don't know anything about Discount's
deal. I highly recomment Woodland's Performance
Suspension for any work you might be considering.
BTW: It sure is nice to talk to someone in the Houston area
on this pathetic South forum!
