A friend of mine is an officer in the naval reserve.
A few weeks ago, He was attending a conference that included admirals in both the US and the French navies.
At a cocktail reception, my friend found himself in a small group that included an admiral from each of the two navies.
The French admiral started complaining that whereas Europeans learned many languages, Americans only learned English.
He then asked. "Why is it that we have to speak English in these conferences rather than you having to speak French?"
Without even hesitating, the American admiral replied.
"Maybe it is because we arranged it so that you did not have to learn to speak German."
The group became silent.

I know for a fact that the Nissan dealership in Round Rock does clear bras for all recent model Zs and all Gs, not to mention other manufacturers' cars. I recommend their service and costs as I have been very pleased with how they have helped take care of my car (now at 224,000 miles and going) for the past five years. They will stand by their work and make sure you're happy.
Call service advisor Clint at 512-844-5647 or email him at ccollins@maxwellauto.com and tell him John in his red OLD car sent you (it's an ongoing joke btw us) for an estimate of a bra. He should give you some extra special attention.
Hope that helps.
Awesome, I emailed Clint and he quoted me $559 for parts and labor with tax. Entire package, bumper, hood, fenders, headlights and mirrors and 5 yr warranty. Has anyone heard of Digi Shield? and how does it compare to 3M?Originally Posted by youngturk

I had my G done at Alta Mere on 183 - speak to the owner "Charles". They did it right, and I believe carry the 3M stuff. They've done several cars, and several friend's cars... no problems and always stood by their work.

agree, those are good turk. BTW, changed my alignment last saturday and made a run through half of 2769 and Lime Creek. car holds much better than before. started at the Oasis and went the way the stampede came, halfway up ime creek I turned around and came back. lot of fun but a few too many other people on the road.
You have a great backyard Liv! Lime Creek is the twistiest road I'v ever driven. Don't want to run into any traffic there. I'm so jealous of your new digs....

oh, hehe cool. I didn't even see the "regional" section of the forums. Well, I'm in Austin and I just got my 05 Coupe AT last week and love it to death. I went to Wal Mart last night at 3am and went crazy on the Meguier (sp?) stuff. Good to meet everyone!!!

I just moved to the Austin area. I wanted to see who else was in the area, and where everyone was hanging out on the weekends. I live in SW Austin, off of Barton Creek Blvd. I have a 2005 Lakeshore Slate G35 (3000) miles, 6 speed, fully loaded minus front aero, and NAV. Only mod is a K&N filter right now. I would like information on a good place to have the windows tinted in the Austin area. Someone that can do it right and get it to look good around the dots on the back window. I hope to meet some local G owners soon, seems like there are a lot of G's in the area. Thanks!

Welcome to Austin man! I used to get my tint done at Mother's Window Tint but I switched to Sun Tint on Burnet cuz they gave me a much better deal. Good service and fast. Make an appt. and u should be outta there ready to roll within the hour. Have you tried your car on FM2222 yet? It's a nice road with some smooth turns and a few straightaways. Watch for APD though...they're a bitch. Capital of Texas Highway is a nice stretch of road to cruise on as well. Again, welcome!!!! Originally Posted by KK2FAST4U

thanx, cato. you've got the Houston G community and all the tuner shops there though. I really want to swing by SGP Racing and Lightspeed Racing and PHR up in Rusk. mostly SGP since I plan to have them build a stage 3 longblock for me.

I've begun seeing more coupes and sedans out around the 620 area, hoping to see more of them turning up here. 2FAST made it on. there's a start, now we just have to convert....I mean show the others the light. I've got the G35Driver.com South Region badges on display. hopefully a few potential members will see them and find their way here
Hey guys, thanks for the advice. I have not driven 2222 yet, but I live right next to Lost Creek so I drive it everyday on the way to work. It is a great road. This brings up something I have been working on. I wanted to see if anyone was interested in a Rally through west Austin, so I can see what great roads are around here. Here is my rough plan, meet up at barton creek mall, drive out mopac to 2222 up to Lime creek, out spicewood, back to 360, out barton creek to lost creek and end up back around the mall to grab a bite to eat or something. I will post a new post just on this if anyone thinks they would be intrested. I have a friend on the BMW forum, that would also get a group from over there to join us. Anyone is welcome, I am not picky about just G's or Nissan's etc. If you have a car and want to drive some nice roads come out and join us. I am not sure when, I was thinking not this weekend but the weekend after. Just let me know if anyone is intrested, what weekend works best, and where you might want to meet and eat. Thanks!
