New "G-Coupe" Owner in Austin Area

Hey everyone,

I just moved to the Austin area. I wanted to see who else was in the area, and where everyone was hanging out on the weekends. I live in SW Austin, off of Barton Creek Blvd. I have a 2005 Lakeshore Slate G35 (3000) miles, 6 speed, fully loaded minus front aero, and NAV. Only mod is a K&N filter right now. I would like information on a good place to have the windows tinted in the Austin area. Someone that can do it right and get it to look good around the dots on the back window. I hope to meet some local G owners soon, seems like there are a lot of G's in the area. Thanks!

Keith

welcome to the ATX. I think Spill is down in your area. I'm on the NW side, near 620/2222. I just moved back from San Antonio so cna't help much with the tint and such. check with spill or turk or others in ATX

Welcome to Austin, Keith. I am a future G Coupe owner. Unfortunately, I have never had tint work done and do not know of anyone to recommend. Spill may know of someone.

Still in negotiation for the price...Izmir is random aim sn picked out of the encyclopeida, yes it is a province in turkey, I've had it since middle school and never changed it. Does anyone know where I can get a clear bra installed either in Waco or Austin?

cato, yea army brat for 13 years. izmir, it's a great place to visit, the entire western coastline is unbeleivable. no idea about the clear bra though. I'm considering getting one myself though. I need to replace my front bumper first. it's taking a beating. hit a dog, got backed into. it's been scrapped many times in driveways

Hey Izmir & Liv,

I know for a fact that the Nissan dealership in Round Rock does clear bras for all recent model Zs and all Gs, not to mention other manufacturers' cars. I recommend their service and costs as I have been very pleased with how they have helped take care of my car (now at 224,000 miles and going) for the past five years. They will stand by their work and make sure you're happy.

Call service advisor Clint at 512-844-5647 or email him at ccollins@maxwellauto.com and tell him John in his red OLD car sent you (it's an ongoing joke btw us) for an estimate of a bra. He should give you some extra special attention.

Hope that helps.

We have something in common Liv! I was born into the army, Dad was a career Army Officer. I was born in Paris France and moved all over. We were stationed in Italy for 1.5 years. Lived all over the U.S. I knew there was something about you that seemed familiar!

Born to American parents while in service overseas in France does indeed make me French to the French. ( Once French, always French). But I had to give up my French citizanship at age 21 to the U.S. government. I'm just a good ol' boy from Paris...................
