This was a route that my bro-in-law did last weekend with a bike club - I think ~2hrs start to finish and some great sections. Has stop points and everything... Let me know who I should coordinate with and I'll get the notes.
Also, I vote for August 13 or 14th.
Hey Andy you can coordinate with myself or V_I_S_I_O_N so let me know..

One more vote for the 13th. By the way, this is Andycon's brother-in-law. I went on the last ride in July and had a blast. I took the route Andycon is suggesting a couple weeks ago on my motorcycle. Plenty of twisties to keep you entertained . Plus speed limit is 70 , so going 100+ isn't THAT much over

Yep...good memory cato! I'm working on getting Andy to send the route to either Infinite1 or V_I_S_I_O_N, so you guys can take a look. Andy doesn't check the forum as much as I do...I guess he actually has work to do at work. Although, you'd be happy to learn that he has "cut out early" a few days to install the mods on his G. The man has his priorities straight.

Hey Todd! What's going on Mate! I did receive the route from Andy. Please tell him i sent him a PM about it. Man cut out early huh? I need to work where he's working...Are they Hiring? Hahah... So it looks like the 13th is what peeps are looking at huh? I guess i'm out-voted for the 20th....I'll go ahead and make another post. So is it safe to say this could potentially be the first official "Houston G Ride" meet? Oh yeah...one more detail? What time are we meeting? I know this rally maybe more "spirited" rather than...."passing at 130mph b/c you're lost" kinda drive so let me know what's a good time and i shall post...

The time depends on where we start, but I'd prefer an early morning start. It seemed to work out well the last time and the heat wasn't too bad. Of course, I'm tagging along with Andy, so I'm at the mercy of what time he picks me up. I don't really have any idea how long the trip will last but start to finish its about 250 miles. When I went with the bike gang we started at 9:30am and finished at 4:30pm (with numerous stops to stretch our legs and an hour and a half lunch break). For those that already have the map, there is a restaurant we could eat at for lunch around point 6 "Arrive at Carlos".

perhaps we should let the members know what the route plan ahead of time might be? and hear what others have to say, that way everyone can either voice their opinions or make suggestions. With gas prices being so high these days, I'm not sure if everyone is willing to go on a 7 hour rally though IMHO...

"on my350z.com the fellas are already stirring uppp another sometime in the future.. right now its starting to look like a Z CRUZ TO G -TOWN (galveston) and may be a lunch, dinner, or a BBQ down there. if not that there is something else too. dunno yet but something. i will keep everyone posted! if there is anything u all come up with just let me know!

thanks!
nexstage350 (LINDSEY)"

"I was thanking a Galveston meet would be fun. Everybody parked along the seawall. You could get some good pics there.
Of course it would be better if it was a G-CRUZ to G-TOWN"

So I second wut Lindsey and Hutch suggested in the other thread. Galveston has a lot of restaurants we can eat at as well as nice scenery for pics. Plus, a 7 hour drive around Houston is askin for a lot of gas. It would be nice if we could all go somewhere and relax, go fishing, crabbing, bbq, swimming, kite flying, seashell picking, football, or even make a massive bonfire. Aite, well lemme know wut you guys think.

Guys i totally understand where everyone is coming from so i appreciate your concern and am glad to see this type of communication amongst the H-town G Ryders....By no means were we going to consider a type of meet without voting first and foremost. Because what matters is everyones input and that's what makes us a group.

If I may say I'd like to thank Andycon and CrazyAussie for supplying this map first since no one else has come forward with any suggestions including myself. It is a great route I have to admit...I personally am a little adamant due to my lease mileage constraints but a trip to "bluebell" country would be cool! However, I did suggest that some people such as myself would be maybe drop off halfway through the course (Coincidentally is at I-45). Halfway would prolly be around 2-3 hours.

I guess if Andy you could provide the map to these guys so they can have a better grasp of what it would('ve) entailed.

Sorry for the long post guys. I think at this point it's best i start a new topic pertaining to suggestions for August's G meet on what it looks like to be the 13th? Would everyone like this to be just G's or will a few Z straglers be an issue? Please keep in mind that I would like this to be the first official "Houston G Rides" meet so let's think of some good suggestions guys! YOU CAN DO IT!!!!! Hahahah....had to throw a little "waterboy" in there.

Cheers,
Ryan
