Pineywoods drive pics and summary
You guys missed a great event! The driving was fantastic. Some of the best roads ever driven by a G35! Four cars participated, 3 G's: 2 sedans, 1 coupe and 1 240sx. How sad that H-town G's sit parked instead of being driven like they are supposed to be. Only one mishap: On the best stretch of road I've ever driven, and supposedly one to the top roads in the United States, we encountered a Law Enforcement Official......I was bringing up the rear this time. When I crested a hill I noticed this cop coming towards up, as soon as his radar spotted Youngturk in the lead, his light bar came on and he pulled off the road. Holy ****.....I thought he was gonna pull all of us over, but he just nailed John...Sorry about that John! John had just taken the lead three minutes earlier, and without any radar protection, he was just meat hanging on a string for the Bear....hehe Other than that, we had a great time. Missed all the supposedly hot drivers from Houston though..............

Some pics of the take off from Katy Mills Mall. My lonely twilight Blue G35 sits waiting for company. Only two other Gs in Houston made it. Sad Sad... Sad

More fun. We got lost a couple of times, even with navigators in two cars! The coupe had a navigation system that found the way, even though it was a gravel road....
As you can see it was a beautiful day for a drive in the G35......

And more. Just past Brenham, we got lost. Here is the gravel road the coupe's navi took us on. We had our doubts, but it did turn into the road we were looking for. Lots of fun....wish you were there with us.

Andy, Todd, George and Brian did not complete the route. They turned south on I45 while John and I went on to Cleveland. The stretch from I45 to Cleveland at 59 was beautiful. The speed limit dropped to 55 mph, so John and I broke the law some more...hehe. Very pretty country!

The gravel road lasted about 1/2 mile. We were spread out so that we just ate a little dust. Wish you were there Chris. We generally stayed within 15 mph of the speed limit. Just fast enough to get John a ticket....

Youngturk (John) showed me his Microsoft Streets and Travel software. It has all the rural roads of Fort Bend County, and all the others. I bought it today and now can generate great quality maps of our backyard! I have found some really great roads in my backyard. I'm planning a Bar-B-Que run for next month! Get ready for some great driving and some of Texas's best BBQ....Plan on being there or being on my "HIT LIST". hehe This BBQ run will be short miles wise, probably less than 80 miles total. It will take place in Ft. Bend County and we will either eat at the "Swinging Door" in Richmond, or "Doziers Grocery" in Fulshear. No more wimping out!!!!! Get ready Houston G-Rides
Thanks for posting those pics Cato. It really is too bad that John had to get a ticket as the rest of the route is a great run if you can get some speed. I'm glad you got a taste of the awesomeness of 3090 none-the-less. FYI: When I did the exact same run on Sunday with my bike club, there were NO cops and not much traffic. Perhaps Sunday is a better day to take a cruise...Saturdays are probably more heavily patrolled. Thanks for squeezing in another ride before I have to head up to Ohio.

My pleasure! I'm thinking that I will do this drive again and again, as you have done... Good luck in school. We will see you back here for another drive in the future?
