Hey Yall:
Proud to be amongst all of you in this forum as a new G35 S owner. Love it so far! I'm trying to find local car audio places that can wire the XM radio kit (antenna and hardwiring the receiver). I would like to setup a connection for iPod at the same time. I've been shopping around: ofcourse, the dealer charges a boat load ($699 for inbuilt XM install), Best Buy charges $79 for XM antenna install and hardwiring the XM device (on dashboard) and another ~$120+ for the iPod setup.
I'm looking for local places in Houston that can do it for less (and probably better too). I'd appreciate it any help.
Thanks!

I hope i understood what you're trying to do
...Do you want to install an aftermarket tuner for your satellite radio or use the OEM infiniti tuner? Our cars are already sat ready...and the only tuner that will work is the factory tuner....then you can purchase a smaller antenna rather than the huge factory one they give you...I've done some research on this and from what i've gathered the install seems fairly simple...kinda plug and play...As far as the ipod install...check this thread out...one of the other members had their G done there...Hope this helps!

Infinite1: Regarding the XM radio, this is my plan. First, try out XM with the relatively cheap after market Satellite Receiver bought during black friday for FAR, get someone to wire the antenna and if I like XM, go ahead and get the Factor Satellite XM kit from Grubbs and get someone to do the full installation.
Now, regarding the ipod, I'm looking at the various options, FM transmitter, icruze, e.t.c. I would probably just go with hardwiring the ipod to the car audio, using cig lighter for charging and just use the ipod for the controls. I've seen the many links for ipod installs; while I give props to all those guys that posted pics of pretty good work, I would rather a pro do it as I'm not good at this stuff.

No prob Bristow! Glad to help! What you could do rather than go through the expense of getting a tuner installed is get the XM roady and try it that way via..then decide on the factory tuner...just another suggestion...At any rate...keep me posted i'd like to hear what happens and definitely check out that iPod setup you may get...

Just picked up my ride on Monday and I am also looking to get XM installed, but not sure what to do. I have a MyFi with a car adaptor kit - http://www.xmradio.com/myfi/index.jsp. Can I get this hooked up directly to the factory radio or will I always have to go through the FM transmitter? The sound fidelity through the FM transmitter just isnt that hot so I might have to get the OEM XM tuner and a 2nd XM account, sigh.
