Just moved to town and took my car to Clear Lake Infiniti for them to put some new tires on. Didn't have a problem there.

I took it there because when I searched on Infiniti's website the Clear Lake and West Houston Dealerships got the "2005 Award of Excellence", whatever that means.

I got my 30,000 mile service at a dealership where I lived before and is cost me about that much, don't remeber exactly, though.

Thanks for the reponse. I have been calling around West Infiniti wants $439 and Clear Lake want $510. Does anyone know why the price varies from dealer to dealer? I thought they were all franchise operations.

I have only used West Infinity but I hear bad things all the time. I am planning on using North Infinity from now on.

Each dealer probably has a diferent list of things to do. Only allow them to do the recommended procedures: oil change, radiator drain/refill, tranny flush/refill etc. Check your owners manual for what needs to be done. Avoid their boutique service!

I recently passed 30K and had to decide what I wanted to do about the 30K service. After extensive research, I ended up just getting a radiator change (due to the hot conditions in Houston). You don't need to do a transmission flush/change until 60K. All the other stuff, like rotating/balancing your tires, oil change, cabin filter change can be done on your own or by some else cheaper. Basically, there isn't anything that is need at 30K that warrents spending 500. Some ppl send that money for piece of mind and others think its worth it.

I recently brought my car in for an oil change and the service guy told me that my cabin filter was FILTHY. When I told him I have changed my filter out 2ice, he was shocked and shrugged it off. Although it probably shows I have never done a cabin filter change, how could he have suggested it was filthy rather than suggesting that since I haven't done one before, it would be dirty. I don't like to give the dealer one more penny then I have too. GL.

As for the price difference, each is owned independently and charge whatever they want. I priced out some floormats for my FX and got 114 - 180 from the 4 dealerships in Houston. I ended up paying 85 from a dealer in PA. Bunch of gougers!

Yeah... so true about the dealers. You don't know what to believe. I also got ~ $500 for 30K service from Clear Lake Infiniti. They gave a print out of what is required, recommended and optional - so, it's all spelled out. I figure 30K is one of the major milestones before the basic warranty expires at 36K; so, better to get it all checked out while still covered by it.
