i think these "servicings" are a giant rip off.

yeah i am sure they are a scam but for the first year or so i aint doing nothing with out them so if something messes up or breaks i dont want to hear any crap from them!!

Yeah, thats the only thing I worry about sometimes is since im leasing, if something were to go wrong, they might say, well you didnt have this service done... I wish service was included, on my BMW it was free service for 3yrs, 36K miles. That was nice.

well, i can understand that. If you check the manual it will show what is actually required as far as service goes. There are 2 schedules for maintenance, 1 is for severe usage and the other is regular. I have noticed that the dealers seem to follow the severe usage schedule for all cars, also they include a plethera of "checks/inspections" that are really not necessary or mentioned in the service manual. If you save your receipts for service, wether done yourself or at another shop, warranty service cannot be denied. Warranty work is not contingent on service being done at any particular dealer or shop.

.... I think i heard that the 7500 mi "servicing" is around $190. I think it is really just an oil change, tire rotation (which the coupe manual states is not recommended), and countless "checks".

I will definitely be doing this one myself. Plus I don't want them getting their grubby little hands on my new toys.

no, this service is just an oil change, just tell em its a coupe and all that is needed is an oil change and thats what i got done for 34.95.

the 15,000 mile service is probably much more.

for me, 34.95 is a good deal, tom bush charges $126 for an oil service, only paid that once and started doing it myself.

 

i believe the 15k "service" = oil change, in cabin air filter replacement, tire rotation, and multiple "checks/inspections".... i think its more along the lines of $300+.
