My car is in desperate need of brakes. I need to change them this weekend (pref saturday) but I don't know of a place that carries Axxis or Hawk brake pads in stock. Advance auto has Axis pads, for example, but you have to special order them. Ditto for a lot of other places.

Anyone have any specific recs?

OK, found some. Advance Auto parts shows Axxis online, and says that they are available by special order in the stores. I went to one, and they were not even in their computer for them to order.

Went a few places, and finally, the 3rd Pep Boys I went to (Roswell & Abernathy) had the Hawk pads in stock for $63.99/axle, but front only. I had to order the rears if I want them.

I had to go to or call quite a few places before I finally found them though.
