the breakdown story

well here it goes.
i was on my way home to tampa from jax and had just past through citra which is the last town before ocala. as i was driving on 301 and all of a sudden my service engine soon light came on and i looked down to see that the temp needle was all the way on the H. so i pulled of the road and there was some smoke coming out of the grille and when i lifted the hood the engine smoked for about 30 seconds and then stopped. when it finished smokin i saw that was antifreeze all over hte motor. so i called roadside assistance and they sent a tow truck to come and get me. my car was then towed to orlando infiniti. the brakedown haapened at 220 and i got to orlando at 630 and finally back to tampa at 10. fun trip.

well yesterday (monday) i was finally get a hold of someone there at 2 after tryin all day. they said that the radiator had gotten punctured from the inside out down at the bottom on the driver side. and that they were goin to overnight in a radiator and put it in today and see if they could get the car to overheat again to see if there are anymore problems that were caused by this accident. hopefully i will hear from them today soetime and get the final verdict.

ill let you guys know whats goin to happen when i find out so more info. but other than that it was a good weekend and a fun meet see you guys next time.

Re: the breakdown story

Sorry to hear about your breakdown. They said that your radiator was punctured from the inside out? Well, good luck on your car repair. Hope they do a pressure check on the cooling system before they run it again.

Re: the breakdown story

I think your grounding kit caused it and it shouldn't be covered by your warranty. Or maybe it was your dark-a$$ tint that caused it.

Re: the breakdown story

haha funny russ
since the tint is so close to the radiator
i dont think it would have been the grounding kit cause we didnt drop anything while we were putting it on or even got close to the radiator but we will see what they say
kinda sucks not havin it though and i wont be able to get back to orlando till friday which sucks even more
but o well
hopefully it will be covered we will see though
you win some and you lose some

Re: the breakdown story

Re: the breakdown story

That really sucks though. How could something puncture it? Isn't it covered by all of our under body armor? Even those cool silicone hoses and the nismo radiator cap couldn't have saved you.

With that said I'm still buying them both.

and the thrilling conclusion

so orlando infiniti called today
and they said that the radiator had gotten punctured on the inside and that there were no scratches anywhere around the hole. also that where the hole occured at is covered by the underbody armor and there is no way for anything to get at it. so they put a new radiator in it and ran it through all of there test and said that there was nothing else wrong with it and that i could come and pick it up.
and now Russ to your great disappointment they are goin to cover it under warranty since there were no scratches or any way for something to get at it. so its all free of charge
now i just have to wait til friday to go pick it up

ahh.... see...once again, my reputation precedes me!

If you had made it to hooters, i would have known who you were.

Didn't you mod the auto to have a manual looking shifter?

i didnt get to orlando infiniti til 630 and the service department was closed and the only people there were a couple of sales people. so now on friday i have to get a ride back over there to pick it up but at least its safe on the dealer lot. i hope.
