Starting a Tampa Based Infiniti G Club

Hey all,

I had made a post, a while back about starting a G35/G37 Car club and I recieved a little interest. There are a lot of G owners that joined FGC but we dont really want to pay to be apart of the club we just want to get together and hang out. So if anyone out there is interested please get with me as we are planning a small meetup this weekend.

why dont you want to be apart of the fgc?
we hold meets all the time in tampa.

forcefedg35, who is not a member, but an active participant, holds meets on fridays at his office. these meets are open to everyone, so hopefully you can make it out there this friday. here is the link to the meet: https://g35driver.com/forums/florida-g-club/229114-july-11th-2008-g-z-tampa-meet.html

also this weekend we are having a big meet in lakeland on sunday. this meet is in memory of one of our fallen members LakelandKev. this is goin to be a huge event. members from OZOC, 350z club of florida, and the FGC are going to be there. hopefully you can make it to this meet as well. here is the link: https://g35driver.com/forums/florida-g-club/229897-lakeland-florida-meet-sunday-july-13th-4pm.html

also i would like to add that all Florida G Club meets are open to everyone. you do not have to be a member to come hangout and have a good time. so please feel free to come to our meets and hang out. here is the link to our section on g35driver: https://g35driver.com/forums/florida-g-club-68/

hopefully you will stop in and say hi, and come to some of our events. if you have any questions or anything for me please let me or _jb know.

thanks

the membership fees pay for certain events so that members do not have to worry about it...also they always provide food and even in orlando (payed for all of our food at winghouse, THnks lol) and plus it is a legit business, they have to do their taxes to lol...correct me if i am wrong or im sure you'll add more dan lmao

yes the membership fee allows the florida g club to pay for the meals at some of the meets.
it also goes to pay for the t-shirts, raffle items that we have at the major all florida meets, and several others things that members get back from joining.

like dino said the fgc is a non for profit organization. we have insurance that covers our meets if something were to happen, we have to file tax returns every year.

also by becoming a member you get discounts at several places. one of the major fgc sponsors is lokey infiniti, which being that you are in tampa is a benefit to you. at lokey, fgc members receive a discount not only on parts, but also labor, which is not offered to anyone else.

the member ship fee is only $30, and with that you receive all these benefits. its definitely worth while.

Because we have expenses.

We run a Club web site... register domain names... are incorporated the State of Florida... create and give away club stickers... schedule meets all over the state of Florida... schedule several large meets where we provide food for everyone in attendance...

To be honest, we never figured that $40 a year would be a deterrent to joining a club where everyone has already purchased a $40,000 automobile. As older G35s become cheaper, there do seem to be a few people that object to spending the $40 a year membership fee. That's OK. You are free to do as you wish.

You are right $40 is nothing compared to what I spent on my baby, but paying $40 a year and this goes to contest and t-shirts and things like that, things I don’t really need then personally I wouldn’t waste the money (I guess this is personal pref).

I guess food for events being free is kind of big I did not know that from what I read up. I thought you guys met up and whatever I got I paid for out of pocket. Thank you for clearing that up.

I also did not know not being a member I could still come and just hang out. I think I will be doing this, this Friday (fingers crossed).

"What you get!!
General Members are guaranteed:
Florida G Club membership effective the day dues are received.
A Membership Card.
An assortment of discounts that our sponsors offer.
Ability to be a part of any club event (local or state-wide).

This is directly from your site, this states that you have the ability to come to club events and you have to pay to do so. As well it says you get discounts and a Membership card. To me this said hey you have to pay to hang out. Not, hey this goes towards things like food and other giveaways.

As well if you look at the next meet it says April 08, over 3 months ago and when going through the list there seems to be a little lacking of the updates. I am just going by what I saw when I looked you guys up.

So this is why I made my post. I am just looking for a group of enthusiast that want to hang out. There is no fee there is just G owners/enthusiast that come together and shoot the shyte...open to anyone and everyone.

However thank you guys for the helpful information you have provided.

the website may be a little out of date but the forums are frequently updated with meets - https://g35driver.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=68

You should go to one of the local Tampa meets and check it out. No one is going to say hey that guy is not an "official" paid member so he can't come. It's not like that. Pretty much all the meets are open to enthusiasts, especially the localized meets. Go, check it out, you want to join, great, you don't, great. No one from the club is going to give you a hard time about it.

As a legit business, the club has expenses, insurance, taxes, accounting, sponsorship, licensing, raffle give aways, etc and the membership fees go to administrate those things. It's sort of necessary when you have a group with over 200+ members.

Check the club forum for the latest information, the website is a little outdated sometimes.

hey
yeh i run the website and being that i am a graduate student at USF, i sometimes dont get things updated very fast. its kinda hard to post up every meet we are having on there.

thank you for bring up the what you get section, sometimes its difficult to see what non-members would think and read into what we have on teh site. what do you think it should say to help clarify things for fellow enthusiasts like yourself? how would you word that section?

like the others have said, you are more than welcome to come to any of the meets!! no one is goin to hassle you for being a member or not. we are all there just to go and have a good time!!

hope to see you there this friday. ill have the g with the kenstyle kit and the work sc1's.

Most people that come and enjoy the hospitality of the Club, want to join and become part of the community. Perhaps there is a new breed of G35 owner that does not. Times always change.

That's not what it states at all. Read it again.

It states that if you become a member, you have the ability to be part of any club event. It does not state that you have to be a member to be a part of any Club event. See the difference?

I mainly posted here so that people reading this would understand the truth. I'm not going to go back and forth about this.

Enjoy your G...

i believe we asked you to be a director of the fgc, if you are interested in this please let _jb or i know. we will be able to get you set up. we need someone in that area to be able to pick a location and talk to restaurants about getting the food. without having someone already in that area we would be goin in blind and know nothing.

if this is something you would like to do please let us know.
thanks
