who is who in charlotte ???
Are ya'll alright? As I check out this thread, and see all the questions as to how, what, where as to G35s & G37s, and wonder - have you checked out the Carolina Z Club? [ www.carolinazclub.com ] Yes, I know it says "Z" but it includes a large contingent of G35s, G37s, GT-Rs.... All of the Nissan Motorsports platforms, and given the shared DNA, your questions as to service, meets, etc., are easily answered - in addition there are club discounts at a number of the local Nisssan & Infiniti dealerships on parts for the club.
Then, there are local meets (the next club meeting is at SuperCar sensations, last one was at a local race shop) and national meets like ZDayZ [ www.zdayz.com ]. The cZc site is a good spot to organize local gatherings and runs to the hills.

I've been over to the Carolina Z site... you guys are a lot more active about meets and things like that, but I feel like the forum is a little quieter, at least the G-specific forums. So, I usually follow you guys for events and the calendar (and am gonna try to make it out soon
) but come here for the forums.

Yeah, as a group sometimes we suck at posting - we are busier doing stuff I guess - the site gets used more for organizing activities. Why I enjoy this site as well.
On the other hand, we need a LARGER G35 contingent - had 6 at the last meeting, out numbered the older Z cars. We gave 'em some $#%& about that!
The club has proved to be a real good source for service & parts references and they are linked solidly with the group that organizes ZDayZ. As such there is some consideration when ordering from the ZDayZ sponsors, and you are more lilkely to get hooked in to used parts /swap stuff.
The good thing is the club is real loose, and expectations are that it acts as a conduit to promote more informal activities vs. formal - they only have 1 car show a year [ ZJam @ Lowes AutoFair in the fall ], and a Christmas Party. Have members from Atlanta to Pittsburg PA, good amount from Columbia and Upstate.
Club is big on ad hoc driving events, informal gatherings, there is a group who track their cars - some road course, some drag. When it comes to lookin good, the other Carolina Z car clubs kinda sorta (but really don't) hate to see the cZc show up at their events as they likely take home the hardware.
For example, a small cZc group recently went to Z Nationals at Z1 Motorsports in GA for a track day on a Fri and a day of show on Sat (and a party every minute). The cZc group took home; Best in Show and Peoples Choice for stock (4 or less visible mods) Z31 & Z32 (300Z & ZX TT), Peoples Choice and Best in Show for stock 350Z, Peoples Choice for Best Modified 350Z (more than 4 visible mods - one of the track cars), Peoples Choice for Best Stock G35, and Runner Up in Stock G35, as well as Runner Up in Show for Modified G35 (another of the track cars). There were over 400 cars entered in that car show.
From what I've seen of some of the G35s that are being driven by those in this forum thread could contend for some of that hardware if they chose to.

i live on independence near the best buy ... my car is up in va getting serviced .. i really wanna meet up with you guys .. since the weather is getting colder .. how often do people get together ?? just been soo busy ..
Sorry just a little bored. Im in North Charlotte. Anyways wanted to warn local g's on cheap intakes on ebay. There is of course a reason why they are cheap. Fitment is horrible, mods to the intake have to be done. Well if anyone really cares.
Wills06g35 is right including everything else like those headers that are under a 100 bucks, cheaper price cheaper quality. FYI your best bet it to buy used good condition parts if you want cheaper.
Well i was able to remedy my cheap intake. I just cut 3 inches off of the tube, trimmed the rubber breather tube coming from the engine, bought a pipe hanger from Lowes to secure it a little better. Rather then it just hanging there. It looks alright.
Now its time to custom a tube going through that huge void where the stock intake silencer was and connect to front bumper grille to allow cool air too the intake filter.

Custom work really is the best way to go if your considering how much money you'd pay otherwise. gj
