Re: Raleigh Area Coupe Drivers
Oz,
I like to get a bunch of people with sedans or coupes and go to Benson.
I went to NCSU but I live in Durham, now. I do spend a lot of time in Raleigh. Nothing to do in Durham. My license plate is
SKYL1NE.

Re: Raleigh Area Coupe Drivers
There will be another coupe in the Triangle this week...
(NOTE: You can skip the rest if you follow the FreshAlloy G35 forum.)
I've been waiting for VPP on the coupe, so when it was announced this month I talked to "our local dealer." Despite being told on previous visits there that they would probably participate when VPP was available on coupes, they are NOT participating ("I can sell all I get a MSRP"). So called other dealers in NC and VA -- same story! So I called Ralph at Grubbs (had visited Grubbs on a business trip to Dallas and talked to Danny), and made a great VPP deal on my soon to be new TB/W/5AT/Prem/18s/4pc-Aero Coupe!
Bottom line, I got just over $3K off sticker ($36505) and am flying there Tuesday to pick it up. Shipping to NC was quoted as $650, but I can fly to DFW for $125 and Ralph will pick me up at the airport (there really is a Grubbs Difference!). I've also read/heard horror stories about shipping/shipper problems. And I just couldn't wait to drive it...
Now since I will have the LONG drive home, I'd appreciate input on break-in (varying RPMs, etc). BTW, I also bought a Colgan carbon fiber bra for the return trip, based on comments in the freshalloy forum.

Re: Raleigh Area Coupe Drivers
Hey, i did the same thing, except i was driving from Lisle Infiniti In Chicago to Raleigh :/ yeah it was a long as* drive but i enjoyed every second of it. The dealer told me to drive it around 60, and not to go over 4k rpms. Although after getting home, Alot of people on this forum said you should not drive with cruise control on, oh well, i did for majority of the trip. Enjoy the G, and beware of weirdos at Waffle houses. ( i had my share of "OoH what kindah cah iz dat!?")
BTW where are you located, i'm in N. Raleigh near Lynn Road, but soon to be in Cary. We really need to bring the Triangle G's together
Take care.

Re: Raleigh Area Coupe Drivers
I just got my Black Obsidian 04 6MT Coupe last month- premium, performance, aero. I was looking forward to driving the hell out of it, but just found out last week I'm getting deployed again! So I'll be in Baghdad while my baby is in storage back in Fayetteville, not my idea of fun. At least when I get back I'll have a TON of combat pay saved up, so some Volks, Stillen exhaust, and possibly a Greddy TT are on the way. Looking forward to seeing some more Gs when I get back.

Re: Raleigh Area Coupe Drivers
OZ, I gave someone in a DG coupe the thumbs up one day at a bank on Creedmoore Rd near Lynn. But I was driving an SUV at the time... forgot I wasn't in my coupe. It may have been you.

Re: Raleigh Area Coupe Drivers
New coupe owner here. Just picked up a 2003.5 blk/blk 6MT from a local owner. I work in Cary off Weston Parkway and live in Apex. I am interested in get togethers, cruises, whatever. Just need to know where and when.

Re: Raleigh Area Coupe Drivers
I was driving east on 40 this morning through the park when I saw a Caribbean Blue Coupe go flying past in the left lane. That is one sharp color, I have to say! Sightings in the Raleigh area are still pretty rare for me, except the one I see in my townhouse complex everyday (not mine unfortunately!)
