That's going to vary from state to state, I could be wrong here but I think they've all got their own rules. California for instance, required you to register any vehicle that was in the state for 30 continuous days. How they know how long it's been there and that you didn't drive over to NV for a day is beyond me.

In reality, you're probably fine as long as your SC registration/license is still valid because you said you're going to still have a house/place to live there right? Pretty sure even if you work in one state, if you maintain a residence elsewhere you can maintain your vehicles and license in that state. That last point is a big one for folks in the military, I've been in NC for 3 years and still have a NV license despite owning a home in NC and having my vehicles registered here (because I'm not driving them all cross country every year).

As long as you still have your house in SC you should be fine, but I'm not a lawyer and don't know GA's rules. I've moved a lot from state to state and never bothered to update registration/licenses until they expired in the old state and I never had a problem (aside from CA).

Sall good man, awesome that u sold it that quick and easily.

I wouldn worry about rushing to get the car reg and all that. I been living in GA for 5 yrs and Im still rocking a Auburn AL tag. Both my bros has been here almost 8-10 yrs w/ AL tags also on their cars but then again they own property in AL. Honestly if it was me, u already paid for the fees and all for the yr, I would register it in GA when the time comes up. Hope this helps

If u still got ur house in SC, I def wouldn matter about reg and getting a GA tag then. I will admit it would prob be a good idea to get a GA lisc though. Im sure by law ur suppose to reg ur car in GA since ur moved here but like I said, they arent too picky here.
