Well I pulled the plug on that shop today after EVERYTHING not working out.. what I posted here in the 1st few posts were like the sugar and cherry coated version of what really happen..

I just recieved the car back today and it looks like PURE crap!! I dont even want to see what the candy did to it.. This is what they did:
Paint base coat
Add Pearls
WET SAND
Add Transparant (Candy) Paint
WET SAND!
Clear..

Anyone that paints PLEASE tell me they do not know wtf they're doing.. my understanding is to get the ghost effect you need to shoot everything while its WET! then sand, buff, clear from then on - am i right?

Anyways NOTHING fits on this freaken car right now and i'm stuck with one HELL of a head-ache.. To make everything BETTER they screwed up the weather seals on the left and right doors and EVEN better they FRIED the A/C and Radio Controls and 80% of my interior LEDs! What adds on to this is me going WTF and then thinking okey easy fix NP ** cool myself down **..

*shift into 2nd gear

*into 3rd

and I hear the underbody engine cover scraping the floor! WTF

*slam on the brakes

*hears a bunch of things fly forward in my door storage area

I FIND A WHOLE BUCNH OF PUSH PINS AND 10MM SCREWS FOR THE ENGINE COVER IN THERE!!! WTF

So now i'm down the street of the shop 7:30PM.. and end up driving -30mph to a gas station so I have enough light to fix everything.. ended up just stuffing the underbody cover into the bumper..

So now I'm down to a car where NOTHING fits with about 6-10 layers of paint on it! Oh and theres bubbles everywhere on this paint and if anyone wants to create a cloudy fuzzy **** like effect with paint I'll PM you the shop number and you can give them a call for the process -___-...

BTW this car was like glass about 1-2months ago..

So now lastly.. anyone know a good uphosltery shop anywhere in IE, LA, OC.. EXPERIENCED with taking apart G35s - currently fallowing this thread https://g35driver.com/forums/southern-california/154996-any-uphosltery-shops-socal.html

I'm going to start off from scratch with custom pieces..

So yeah anyways that shop (wont name any names) but is the same shop that painted that army / american flag G35 going on import tuner - the one with the stillen front.. Customer service I'd give them a 7.. I've worked with them from Aug to now and they've pretty much gone through a whole staff.. if we were to measure turn around rates they'll be at a good 80% right now.. the new guy painting sounds awsome when i talk to him but i cant deal with that staff anymore...

how's the cf hood? are the vents still cf? like no paint on them? would it be too hard to take the paint off the hood?

 

im pretty sure thiner will take everything off as there isnt any primer on the hood..

you want the black TS i have on my car or the new one i have in the living room lol

 

whats the price difference! ahaha i mean they both have to almost go through the same process... but if its a pain in the *** for the shop to take the paint off of the black one... then i'll get the one in the living room.. but you tell me!
