What is the average price for.....

2 7" monitors (forgot the brand) for the headrest and a Pioneer HU dvd/navi double din setup. The lowest price I got was $999 out the door. Is that a good price, should I continue to shop around? I have no idea how much these things cost so any opinions are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Head down to the electronics district in LA..you can get some great deals down there.

It's on 11th and Alameda(I believe) but it's only a couple of blocks from the produce market, the big distribution center.

No time to go down that area. Besides I get a better deal if everything comes from the shop itself. If I buy parts somewhere else it's almost impossible to get a discount on labor and whatever added parts they can think off.

They have installers that actually hook things up right on the drive-ways.

a few people I know have all gone there and get great deals. I know a guy that does work out in your area for the installs..

Which Pioneer HU are you looking into Glenn? The Z1 is good. It's discontinued, but i'm sure you can find them floating at various places. The Z2 is suppose to replace the Z1. Basically the same as the Z1 (according to people on avic411.com), except no one has hacked yet, so you won't be able to play videos from the HU screen while driving. Check out that forum...lots of info about Pioneer HU there. I got mine for $1500 around the time it came out and installed it myself.
