i love the s2k... if i wanted to buy a 2 seater car that would have been my 1st choice... im 6'1" and s2k was too small for me... i feel like im bulging out of the sides and the seat when i drive a s2k... steering seems like it was designed for a midget, small and size of a medium pizza pan... but what a great car.

Well I can fit in one with no problem. The reason for the small steering wheel is for better response on spirited driving. You see small steering wheels on most race cars (except nascar) for this reason.

It's going to a be a dedicated track car so it will gutted and it will have a roll cage in it. Take the AC, radio and maybe even the gas tank. Replace it with a smaller one and relocate the battery to the back. If I can get one at dealer auction with high mileage then I will go ahead and get it. Maybe by next year I can join the rest of the gang at the track.

do it!

the only thing I find negative with the S2k is the engine. Its too expensive to squeeze out any more NA hp from it...

As a track car, the s2k would be good.. economical.. the next step would maybe be a Boxter S? test drive them!
Maybe even test drive a saturn sky. the faster one,.. im curious how that can can handle.. tho it is pretty fast.
Also, as a track car, maybe look into a Lancer evo,.. used.
I love shopping for cars.. u get to test drive everything!.. haha..

good luck bro!

That's just it you don't have to touch the engine on an S2K. What you need to do is get some weight off the car. Take the AC, radio, gut the interior use a smaller gas tank. HP isn't everything sometimes to add power just add lightness. Maybe improve breathing and exhaust and that's about it.

Sorry but no domestic car for me just a preference on my part.

Evo's are nice but not worth the price I have to pay on a use one. I can get an S2K for less than 12k and now with my auction access I can get it for even less.

I prefer the Cayman S more than the Boxter or maybe a use 993 TT.

Do it...My friend has one and its a blast to drive...Very light and responsive...Just upgrade brakes and suspension, and sticky tires and you will dominate the track...

ok then.. i guess your set..
well fyi.. my friend had an s2k.. and he really couldnt add much more HP from breathing mods.. some intakes and exhausts would make the car LOSE hp.. just be careful with what you do,.. of course do your research on the mod.

from what he says.. the only real way to get any more hp is FI..

but yea, i do agree, you can get the car lighter.. thats a good start..
DO IT UP!!!!.. good luck!!

I also agree. You'd get into an S2k accepting the engine is already wrung out. The stock S2k brakes may look look dull, but they are actually quite adequate for track duty. All that is needed is a set of race pads.

When would you be realistically looking to drop the ball on this Glenn?

If work was not so hectic right now I could do it right away. Unfortunately, with things the way they are I'm looking at maybe before the end of this year. I can probably get the car ready for next racing season.

Hey Clint you going to the GTG tomorrow? I have your wall charger.

Oh snap! My charger.

Darn, I won't be able to make it today (you meant?). I got a prior engagement to attend to.

That's right. I still remember Rob ... Rob_S2k. Tell him I say Hi!
Fortunately I wear the S2k like a glove ... I'm nearly 6'0".
