04 G35 Rotors?

OK so I needed to get my brakes done now for a month but working alot of hours...............

I pick up some Hawk hp's and call Brake Master's to get my brake installed and my rotors turned...............

The guy said I will need new rotors cause the Infiniti rotors get soft and don't last?

Is this true? Help and any good shops to do brakes in the IE?

Thanks

if they're isnt enough meat left on em to turn then you need new rotors. They need to be measured with a micrometer, if they're under minimum machining, they need to be replaced. If not, they can be cut. Too bad you're not in SD, i'd do the whole thing for $20!

EDIT: wait! i forgot if you have brembos or not Josh??? If you have brembos, then yes, you should replace them, they're too soft to cut just like any european car's rotors

GP............thanks for the quick responce! Darnit so I should replace them, ok! So normally on these brembo's I need to replace the pads before the y reach the rotors run in order to continue using the same rotors? I guess I'm used to turn them and continue on.

Thanks for the help.

If it were me and i had brembo's, i'd replace the rotors everytime, but that's just me, you can get away with changing out the pads and using the rotors for 2 sets of pads, as long as the rotors still have life on em.

^ yeah his D Service is the price of your front rotors haha

Josh the pads are the same material.. Does not get softer or harder as you wear them. Brembo rotors are harder then OEM and so are the pads.. and will take on more abuse then our OEM stuff. You can measure your rotors NP.. a cheaper way is pull up to sears and slip a tech $5 to give you the measurements. if its below min then time for new rotors.. if it is SLIGHTLY above min then you can get away with just changing pads but your brakes might squeek soon.

mine arent brembos and i have an 04, the front rotors are pretty much always replaced cuz thats where the performance calipers are and the black ones can be refurbished ONCE then replaced....according to sources and the dealership itself. cost of OEM replacement rotors here in CT...about 120 bucks more or less

Man! A hook up now?! I've had my pads and rotors sitting in my trunk for about 3 months because I can't get the car to a shop to replace the rotors for me. And you'll probably get some good rotors too, huh. I've got some that are slotted and cross drilled, but they don't do much good sitting in the trunk. Well we'll see, there is a shop here in Temecula that can do them, but I still need to have a driver take it in for me. Or I'll talk to Dru when I have the Test pipes installed.

Later,

Ray
