Oil Consumption Prob on my 5AT.. Anyone else?

Hey guys, I have an '04 Coupe 5AT and started using Mobil 1 Synthetic (non extended) and have noticed that I've been burning oil. I was about due for an oil change and checked the stick, realizing that the oil was down almost half way.

I spoke with the dealer about it and he suggested to me that it could just be my driving habits; I drive with tiptronics often. Anyway, he also said that only 6mt's have an oil consumption issue.. Is that true? Only 6mt's have an oil consumption issue?

I'm just wondering if there are any other 5AT drivers out there with the same, or had the same problem.

Thanks guys,

aRTie

I have the same issue. The tech said that only 6MT's have the issue, but there's a poll on this site, with plenty of 5ATs with the same issue. The service manager admitted that he did see a few 5ATs with this.

Thanks for all of the replies guys. I'm going to have the dealer do the oil consumption test; my G is burning too much oil. Within 3k miles, my oil low sensor activated the maintenance warning on my navi screen.

uh the maintenance warning isn't linked to any low oil sensor. it's set by mileage.
