Looking for shop selling General Tire Exclaim UHP
I am looking for General Tire's Exclaim UHP. I have recently been neutered by traffic tickets, so performance isn't much of an issue. Judging by reviews I've read online, this tire does just fine. And it's cheap.
Anyway, I'm looking for a really cheap price. I saw one post for a tire shop in OC that charged $697 installed for these tires including tax. That really doesn't help me. I can get a set of Toyos T1R for $840 installed. So for $150 difference, getting a inferior tire isn't worth it. But I notice on Tirerack that a set of four of the General Exclaim is $550. But after shipping and install its more than $650. So if I could find a shop that installs these under $600 that would be worth it.
I need 2 245/35/19 and 2 275/35/19.

I was gonna get these too... but then I read the reviews on tirerack from all the G35 drivers for this tire.... NOT GOOD MAN!!
they rarely last a little over 10,000kmh and road noise gets really bad after a few thousand... then also someone else posted the car just driving weird, he said it was something to do with the thread pattern confusing the VDC configuration... like the car would peel out and VDC wouldnt or would kick in or something along the lines....
go to www.tirerack.com and check the reviews of the G35 drivers, here's one I'll post for you....
"6MT with 18 inch wheels. Similar to a survey response for this car and Dunlop Direzza tires, this tire will not work on the G35 Coupe. Something in the tread design conflicts with the VDC software algorithm, and it kicks in at normal speeds while taking the mildest of corners. Tire dealer has agreed to take them back, fortunately"

I posted the $697 but actually it included a front and rear alignment. I know for a fact that the 275/30 are backed order and finding them will be a needle in a haystack. If you $600 installed, call up America's Tires in City of Industry. Mention the prices on tirerack.com because they'll go below their prices, including mounting & balancing.

$150 difference for General vs Toyo is the norm but don't be thinking GT's are crapped @ss tires. Only reason why I went with them and not Toyo are from the reviews and the tire specifications. Granted I don't know how the T1-R's ride but compared to oem Potenza, I'd take General anyday!
I have the 245/35 and 275/30 setup. Had them on for a little over 2,000 miles now and they still ride sticky. Handles great but then again I have the front strut bar. No problems with the VDC. Great tires for normal everyday driving and I know of members who go on the tracks with only Generals.

Ok My take of the General Exclaim Uhp. First set of Tires I had on my car 245-35-19 front 285-30-19 rear Dunlop SP-9000 Probally the best Tires I've run. Any way i've tried the general. I still have the First set on my car on the front....... I've been through 3 sets of the rear 275-30-19....... My car is lowered, good drop low but Not slammed, i have the SPC rear camber & caster kit. For some reason the rears lasted around 3-4 trips to nor cal I live in LA 376 miles 1 way so i average around 1000 miles a trip. Then they were TOAST! Why do 380 wear tires Last ONLY 4000-5000 Miles??????? Remember the higher the number them MORE the tire is "Supposed to last" The 1 trip my tires were almost slicks.....Add major Nor cal Rainfall..... my car was sliding all over the place. probally the worst feeling of my life I wanted to pull over call Autoclub get their 200 mile free tow and Be reamed up the @$$ for the last 176 miles. I and my Tire shop Still haven't figured this one out. My car currently has generals with 50% tread up front Toyo T1-R 275-35-19 rear......5 trips to Nor Cal already and maybe 80% tread left?????????!!!!
Personally I would NOT reccomend these tires to ANYONE!!!!! If You have to save and Buy 1 tire at a time get the Toyo. Yeah I agree The General have the MOST Funky tread pattern that I've seen In my life. If you still need more inexpensive tires than the T1-R there are a few other tires made by Toyo or Falken makes good cheaper tires..... My 2Cents hope this helps

Yeah, thanks for the advice.
The best price I got out the door including tax, balance, and install was $668 on the General UHP and thats having Tirerack ship them to a place near me. Since the Toyos are $860 including tax, balance, and install I've decided its not worth saving $192.
So I'm just going with the Toyos.
