California Tint (who went there)
#92
Sup guys. Well, I didn't end up going to Cali Tint for a couple reasons:
1) I really wanted ceramic since it's non-metallic and its heat reduction properties are superb. I took a look at the Johnson Insulatir and although it looks like a good product, I didn't like how reflective it looked from the outside. I don't think that particular tint complements a black car very well.
2) It's freakin far (for me at least).
The guy I talked to on the phone in the morning was really cool though, so props to the guys at Cali Tint for their customer service.
Anyway, I ended up going to a place in Placentia where they carry Formula One products which is some GREAT high-end tint that is very competitive with Huper Optik. The Pinnacle series is the only ceramic tint I could find that wasn't as glossy/reflective as some of the other ceramics I've seen. I called several places and most of them seemed to charge anywhere from $305-$360. I ended up paying $260 OTD, which isn't too bad since most other people I've read about on other forums paid about $300 on average. Minus some condensed bubbling I see from the outside right now (which should go away within a couple days...so they say), the tint looks great. I guess the true test will come during summer time when the temperatures get up there.

^ good choice.. heard some pretty good stuff about Formula One but $260 x.x
lastly, PIXX!! =PP
Not suppose to but if you tint your windshield, yes it will (this is true from all forms of tint reguardless of what the box says). Personal experience > box
lastly, PIXX!! =PP

Yeah it stopped. Sorry, I completely forgot. I even took my car out today too. I'll get it up within the next couple days (I rarely take my G to work, and I get back late, so I don't have much chance to take pics). I'd REALLY like to take it when I clean it this weekend, so I might make you wait a bit longer...

I've metallic tint on the rear 19% (solarguard quantum) and 28% windshield (SG charcoal) I have my V1 mounted above my rear view mirror and don't have any noticeable issues with it (multiple runs to SF, LV and SD)
i would be more concerned with the local PDs use of LIDAR which is making my unit pretty worthless. Gonna suck when they all get digital radios, since then my scanner will be worthless too.

Don't know yet. I think I'm getting the 7% one all around. I dropped off my car at 9:30 this morning, but I think they won't be able to work on it til 1 or something because they need to pull the older tint and that takes some time to do. I am actually back in OC at my school and will be back there around 5 to pick my car up. I'll post some before and after pix when I get home.
