There's a company that sells a kit doing the above for the cost of one's kidney. Not so sure it's worh it though.

yeah, then you get fvcking arrested for not signing it or some bullsh!t. The law is truely ****ing stupid sometimes. The government can fvck you over so hard its not even funny. All it takes is someone to know someone. All a cop has to do is be friends with a friend of a friend that is friends with a judge and there goes your life if he wants it to.
This world really sucks at times, but unfortunately we all have to deal with it.

I wouldn't throw out the V1 yet. Although NJ has used laser for a good few years now, I still see cops and even troopers who operate on the constant X band. Throw out your detector and you may be signing a radar ticket.
All is not lost if this was a LIDAR unit used to measure your speed. If it's LIDAR, there is a cure. Before I get into it, go over to V1's site for a layman's explanation of Laser vs. Radar and how they both differ. LIDAR is basically laser, which is light. I think it operates on the light spectrum as opposed to radar which is rf (radio frequencies).
You can get an active laser jammer from Blinder. It's legal, last I remember, because laser is regulated by the FDA. Unlike laser (lidar) rf (radar) active jammers are illegal under FCC regulations. The FCC governs rf. The radar detectors that we use are legal in all but 2 or 3 states because they are "passive" jammers. In other words, the detector is only receiving radio waves and not manipulating it. If there is a valid radar jammer out there, I wouldn't even touch it as you would probably wind up behind bars with no rights under the Patriot Act.
Back to the Blinder. I owned one and mounted it to the front of my car. One night, on the way back from work, I was hauling at about 95+. Sure enough, the man was sitting on the side of the Parkway. My Blinder went off first, then my V1. Per the instructions on with the Blinder, once you get the warning - you are to slow down to the speed limit or lower, turn off the unit (via a switch) so that you don't raise suspicion and so that the cop can also get a reading off of you. Although laser jamming is not illegal, if they find that you used one, you could get some trumped up charge like "obstruction of justice".
By the way, it worked as advertised. He just kept on checking others. Before purchasing the Blinder, make sure that it's up to date. In other words, that it jams the majority, if not all the laser guns out there. You can check the speed measurement lab guys. They test all types of radar/laser guns and detector setups.

Laser jamming is NOT LEGAL in california.
DO NOT JAM RADAR in california guys; they WILL KNOW if you're jamming, and then its not just a speeding ticket.
Laser Jammers are ILLEGAL in:
Nebraska
Minnesota
Utah
California
Oklahoma
Virginia
Colorado
Illinois
Detectors are ILLEGAL in Virginia and on military bases.
Thread resurrection ftw.
