DO IT but make sure its done right..
I've seen SOOO many cars that run into problems after problems when doing something custom.. I've had my share of problems as well with the rear (widebody) fender.. but everythings resloved now.. make sure you're ready both time and financially (btw making fenders is one thing.. making them to be able to run with wheels on is another)...
include cost of tires
cost of rims...
etc..

Wide body vs Not.......?
If your car will look like the one in the pic, do it! What will be your obligation
to them when the car is finished? Will it be on tour, never to be seen by you?
If you are "NOT" obligated to them and it doesn't involve a contract do it.
The pic you posted looks Wow, bitchen!

The shop doing the work better know what they're doing when you're making a widebody.. I mean think of all the bodykit companies out there and how many "testers" have had their car messed up.. make sure the shop doing the work will return your car to its normal condition (Tabs, screws, wiring, etc..) or give them the car with out fender liners, tabs, covers, etc.. and how well they're going to treat your car when its in the shop (we 3M bag our testers cars and cover EVERYTHING (even wheels with tires) while the cars here).. Keep in mind they'll be working with fiberglass and tools that'll shave and cut things so theres going to be ALOT of dust flying around. Lastly if they're doing the paint work as well they'll be taking apart your car wheels, fender liners, bumpers, tail light, FENDERS, underbody panels, etc..
Lastly if a fender (front or rear) is made incorrectly and you get some agressive offset wheels then it'll cause you to rub the bumper or misc part of the car.. Also how wide are you going? +.5", 1", 1.5" IMO .5" - 1" is enough it'll allow you turn up to 335/25/19 or 20s hows your gas cap going to be? are you getting custom fender liners? whats the inner part of the fender going to look at.. all taken to consideration before making a decision to go CUSTOM wide body.. A better example would be to ask APR how long it took them to make their widebody.

Yeah I can see how somethings can be overlooked during the build process. Suspension travel is certainly a big one for the end user. I can roll when dropped all the way down.
