I have already changed everything back to stock so I will pass with no problems unless the plenum spacer and AEM CAI I have will mess with the inspection.

 

cool.. nah.. i won't worry about the spacer.. cos that just give more air for your vq. : ) take care!

Ok so I just got back from the smog check and they did a visual inspection and said they couldnt pass me because of my CAI.

I was confused since its a AEM and its CARB legal so I asked them about that and the guy prints out a piece of paper with my CARB EO number and it states its for a 2003 INFINITI G35 and since I have a 06 it doesnt apply to my car.

What a waste of time. I cant believe I missed work for this BS. Now I need to install my stock airbox and miss another day of work going back...I hate living in California!!

 

So just a heads up guys if your referee center is known for being strict make sure you change everything back to stock before going in !!

 

ouch.. that's sucks.. yeah.. that's one down fall of living in Cali for car enthusiast. but you know what.. they never seems to bother any of the diesel trucks.. and you know you can heard them boosting their turbo like no tomorrow!!.. but they can never get in trouble for smogs.. cos apparently they don't have to do smog check. so i guess we just have to convert all of our imports to diesel if we wanna stay out of the trouble and we can boost 20, 30, or even 40 lbs of boost.. lol!

 

Ok I went to court today to pay my ticket...the fine was only $10!!! Im so relieved. I just had to show them my results from my smog test and that was it!!

EXACT same thing happened to me! i got a carb sticker for my intake and took it back, he told me me the number is for a 03. which state referee did you go to?

 

I went to the one at chaffey college off the 210. They were actually pretty cool but he said he couldnt do anything about that...

 

You guys think we could call AEM and complain about this? One of the reasons I payed so much for a AEM intake was because it had the CARB number. If I wanted a intake with no CARB number I would have gone on ebay to get one for a few bucks...
