hey guys, im tryin to figure out what tint is LEGAL for the front 2 windows for California. i know in the back you can have anything.
The only thing ive been able to find is that it "Must allow more than 70% of light in."

i want to get 20% in the front and i was also wondering if i would get hassled by the cops with that tint too much..

no tint is legal in California on the front windows.

 

it is legal for the front windows, its 30% tint/70% visibility.. check the california website, it lists every state

 

im not talking about the front windshield haha

so im assuming tint is illegal on front sides, i did 35% on the front sides i havnt got harassed yet cuz they can see what race i am, if u go lower u might get harassed do to them not being able to see what race u are.

 

what does it matter whether the cops can tell if you're asian, african american, or caucasian? Do they just like to pull over the white guys cuz it's fun? sorry haha I'm just a bit confused by that comment.

 

yes, front windows (driver/passenger) is illegal. ive had to scrape my tint off in front of the po-po to get out of a fix it ticket for tint. f'n b.s. if you ask me.

for instance some places have cops that will laser and get your car speed, and about 1/8-1/4 mile away is the 2ed cop to pull u over, its easyer to mention if your a male/female, white/hispanic,etc. compaired to unknown suspect proceed with caution where they might have there gun out pointed yelling gtfo of the car with ur hands in the air cuz they cant see through the windows very well. (overkilling the story but u get the point)



a retired cop friend said he hated people with dark tinted windows cuz u couldnt tell if they had a gun in there hand or not when walking up to the car.

If you think getting a violation for tint is a race thing you're wrong. The CHP
doesn't give a rats a$$ if you're green, white, yellow, brown or black when
they stop you for tint. It's all about them being able to see inside your car
and what's going on. You can't blame the cops for doing there job and being
as safe as possible! If you stick with 35% tint on your driver/passenger
door windows and leave the sunroof shade open you shouldn't have a problem.....I haven't! Keep in mind it is illegal so don't blame me if you're
a green dude and get busted.......

 

i have 5% on my G all around and I got pulled over in L.A. twice in 1 day for my tint. They let me go both times. But both cops told me that legally in Cali you can't have any tint on the front windows. So who knows.. BTW I am white, so maybe that had something to do with it???? The way the world is today, who knows...

 

when i get pulled i always open the sunroof and both windows.. helps keep the cop a little happy.. =)
